What a historic moment this was -- two great stars, both in top form. Ms. Ross is such a generous performer, and I have seen her with many other singers, and she is always such a good audience for other singers. She obviously just loves the career she followed, and we are all luckier for the fact that she followed it. Thanks for posting this moment and sharing it with all of us!

Diana Ross was great and beautiful and like the man who ran this show said she is the original Diva. Sista put the D in Diva before anyone knew what that meant. It was also great to see the lovely Gloria Gayner up their performing. 2 living legends on the same stage.

All I can say is It would have been great to be at this show. Diana Ross, no matter what any else has to say, is an icon, superstar, diva and pioneer. All of this other stuff on here is old, dated and in the past. As President Obama's slogan for his election was, we must all move FORWARD. Living in the past ain't happenin'!

Miss Ross Always gives a good show,and have always given homage to other female singers..People llke to keep the negative conotation of the word DIVA and associate it with Miss Ross.She sees herself as an Entertainer who gives her all to her fans.She likes to be perfect!!! and when trying to please others,I can understand being a lil testy at times. People like Mary Wilson have done more than most to tarnish the legacy of The Supremes and Diana Ross through sheer jealousy!. Miss Diana Ross is a Pioneer, Trailblazer and Global Phenomenon and if being a "Diva" means having a hard work ethic, perfectionist, class, sophistication, beauty, elegance and that certain something that only a Diva has then i'm glad that Miss Ross is the ORIGINAL Diva!. She's still the benchmark by which all other female artists are judged!.She's the SUPREME Supreme!.

Never Can Say Goodbye (which was a Jackson 5 remake) became a very big hit for Gloria, reaching the Top 10 in the mid 70's, before I Will Survive. so no, she's not a one hit wonder. And while I recognize Donna Summer has more of a claim on the "Queen of Disco" title, I think some people tag Gloria in that manner because I Will Survive is such a seminal disco song.

she was the Voice for a certain type of vulnerability that certain girls were experiencing and she expressed this for them each Supreme in grooming and dress was a representative of that girl black or white asian german whatever. Knowing Diana's professional history says not much (if nothing at all) of her personal history. Imagine if the world hung on everything you did that didn't seem moral, or if people simply judged you by what the previous person said about you.... Y'all kill me with that. History is history. exactly after a certain point flo and mary were jealous and that point was the beginning- listen to the solo verses of back in my arms again. young Diana Ross was in love with Berry Gordy and HE was in love with her. it was a teenage girlfriend rivalry that Ross won. Holland Dozier Holland wrote songs about it, she sang the songs and Gordy hit pay dirt. Their love affair was strong enough to build an empire and this is the legacy of truth that is in the Broadway show.

By 1966/67 the change from THE SUPREMES to Diane Ross & THE SUPREMES she had concocted together with her LOVER & BENEFACTOR in order to pave the way for her "solo career" of 1969 was well in the works. Florence Ballard the vocal opposition would not go along, she starting rebelling and she was OUSTED. Mary Wilson did what was IMPOSED on her, or be also replaced! This are FACTS!

Wrong Diana Ross version went to Pop No.1 Marvin Gaye & Tammi (not Tammy you have that Spelled Wrong like Diana's name )Terrell's version only made it to Pop. No. 19. Whenever the version is done they usually use Ross's version and her gestures.. Diana OWNS Aint No Mountain Like Whitney owns Always Love You, Dolly wrote did it first. Aretha Respect Otis Redding wrote and released first. At Last Etta James Covered it, it was Not her song. So you have said Nothing. Folks cover songs. .
