One of the most sincere, entertainers of all time. People can talk trash, but how much her kids adore her tells you something about who this person is. Still tearing the house down in her 70s.

To the 42 haters here who gave the thumbs down...SHAME ON YOU!! You obviously do not see greatness right before your eyes. Diana Ross is a singing goddess...one of the greatest legend in the last 100 years. Whilst others like Whitney, Britney, Amy Whinehouse and many others have all seen their singing career ruined as a result of drugs and substance abuse, Miss Ross continues to shine even at 74. She still has the same poise, elegance and hauntingly beautiful vocals to go with her ageless beauty.

I.ve got to admit, no one made the stage more inviting, family oriented, and brought a oneness to the atmosphere, from the stage on down to the entry doors, than Diana. Her signature of bringing individuals onto the stage is a technique you just will not find in other artists. It's her way of saying, "it's not just about me, but all of us are in this thing together." I've never been a die hard Diana Ross fan but I always respected her artistry. She's a true master of making this part of the industry look and feel like a beautiful thing. Just great showmanship all around.

Ms. Ross this is Gary Corbin, who likes to think I am your number one fan. CONGRATULATIONS. You are my NUMBER ONE inspiration ever since I first saw you on the Ed Sullivan Show decades ago. I have seen you live many times since the late 70's. In 1975 I was diagnosed with bone cancer and had to have most of my right leg amputated. One of the first things my family did was buy the Mahogany album and showered me with pictures, your music etc. It helped me heal. Recently, I celebrated 42 years as a cancer survivor. You helped me know I would survive and live a full life in pursuit of achieving my hopes and dreams. I am now an actor, playwright and producer. Seeing you still strong, productive and beautiful inspired me to recently earn my MS degree decades after my BA in Theater. I hope to meet you face to face some day to tell you in person how much you mean to me. Some of the happiest days of my life include this MARVTASTIC night, seeing you receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from my hero President Obama, and hearing that you received and Oscar nomination. I am now 60 years old and at the end of my life, one of my GREATEST joys will be having you in my life.....always giving me hope.....inspiring me to be the best I can be.....no matter what the obstacles....ain't no mountain high enough!!! The only two people who inspire me more may be my mom and grandmother. Still, you are my number one inspiration, star and guiding light. You are indeed a golden Lifetime Achievement. Much love. Gary

I realised it a couple of weeks ago & the proof is in the pudding. For years I had the feeling that Diana Ross didn’t get enough recognition or appreciation. The queen of Motown. The queen of Motown. The queen of Motown. New albums didn’t do much she remained an icon she kept performing but it wasn’t as successful as I hoped it for her to be (or for myself) because I am a huge fan but I listened to her and well since family always came first; if your career is not what it was… Concentrate on your children. Who am I? However that feeling of sort of being alone in my admiration persisted and it hurt. Also the Ross’ haters here… You don’t have to like her, her voice or the way she paved her way but she did accomplish a lot more then most. Trailblazer. So give her some respect. Then finally the Grammy came and she said on stage something to the extend of: Legacy? This is my legacy pointing at her children and I thought; ‘Yeah I know, but… It just didn’t register... What good news! This morning reading that she received the AMA Lifetime Achievement Award! A tad late but better late then never. The queen of Motown…. The queen of Motown… The queen of Motown…? People! There were the Bilderberg's, the Rockefeller’s, the Kennedy’s and now there are the Ross’s. Hats off! And thank you SO much!!!
