Uno de los mejores Diana y Acteón que he visto en mi vida, por ambos bailarines, pero principalmente por ella: Valdés es una bailarina extraordinaria. Nunca había visto balances tan soberbios, como los de Valdés. Ambos bailarines se mantuvieron dentro de los compases de la música de manera precisa, como 2 cronómetros.

This is wonderful classical dancing AND with beautiful line. This is full of expression, technique, showmanship, musicality and excitement. Before tearing into a beautifully trained dancer, you better be a good dancer yourself and able to compete on an international level as these dancers. Dance is not all rhythmic gymnastic contortions that are so prevalent these days.

que gran tecnica la de ella. Que figura fisica tan orrenda....que hermoso el bailarin! Nuestra Ofelia no tenia la figura ideal como esta nina, pero que gran bailarina de estilo y detalle....esta muchacha es como una carreta bien engrasada, lo hace todo a modo agranel, despampanante...pero molesta a la vista todas las jugarretas retorcidas y lineas antiballet para lograr el aplauso. En fin!

I see where you're coming from; you're right to say that balance & turns require technique. But I don't think you quite understand me. Having the facility (or working to get it) to make beautiful lines is part of being a truly excellent ballet dancer. Even so, I don't care that her arabesque is low, it's her back going forward so much, like an ice skater, that bothers me. It would actually look nicer if it were at 45 but her back were straight & her leg crossed behind her. Agree to disagree?

I don't think you quite understand me, having a nice line IS NOT TECHNIQUE ... its facility, her arrabesque may not be high but its still technically a good arrabesque, Ballet is extremely hard, and for you to call her balance and turns 'just turns and tricks' is ignorant as it takes TECHNIQUE to have those things... with her being prima ballerina of Cuban National, one of the worlds famous ballet companies, i think you're in the wrong to say she's 'not necessarily a good classical dancer'.

having a nice line isnt technique, you dont have to be a technician to have a 'nice' line you could be a hypermobile gymnast and have some one just put you in an arrabesque position... that is not technique... just saying

The thing is, LINE is very important in classical ballet, and if you aren't flexible enough to have a nice line in arabesque, that's a problem. I'm not saying she isn't incredible when it comes to turning and balancing and POWER (though one could also argue that 'classical ballet isn't just turns and tricks'), because she certainly has those, but she isn't really a very good classical technician. She's a good dancer, but not necessarily a good classical dancer. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately her turns and unique balances are there ,, you can not take them away, but also we do take away all those ballerinas unable to do it and the list gonna be huge ... Viengsay feel free to say ,, You are among the ballerinas truly gifted to do these turns and balance ,,, in your group only retired or dead ballerinas can accompany ...
