Regarding anxiety and social media, each person needs to control their feed. Remember if you feel fearful, and anxious after watching a video or show, that person is making money from your fear, and anxiety. Take your emotions back and give your attention to things that are true and lovely.

I have felt "hurt by the church" regarding clicks but I continue to remind myself that EVERYONE feels awkward and gravitates towards people they know. It's not with malice or ill-will. In those moments, I pull up my big girl pants, extend myself and am always received well. We're all just human.

I was agnostic/atheist in my teens/early 20s and dealt with extreme anxiety, depression, and what I believe to be demonic oppression. You are spot on about having to rely on yourself, and it was a huge point of pride but also downfall for me. I still have a long way to go, but am in the process of becoming Catholic. I know that’s not the popular choice, but I have personally felt lead in that direction for the last 10 years. I am grateful for you and other Christian influencers to show what faith in every day life looks like!

Honestly it has been really tough and confusing. I had a unique situation of doing research into religions and deciding Catholicism was the true church before I had developed faith in God. Basically I was saying “I don’t believe in God but if I did, I would be Catholic.” I am an analyst by trade and it was the religion that made the most sense to me logically (but no hate to anyone of other faiths reading this! Catholics are taught to love all as Jesus did). I met a ton of Catholics in my 20s seemingly coincidentally, including my now husband who has had a positive influence in that direction. Having faith in generally has been difficult- I grew up in what I like to call a “godless context” aka now I have to do some mental gymnastics to reframe my understanding of existence under God, but I have been working on prayer and listening for God in silence. My biggest advice is: meet people in the community, they generally are so kind and friendly to non-Catholics so long as you are respectful. Media had me believing the opposite my whole life. And if you are serious but still questioning, joining RCIA would not hurt! There is no obligation to agree with everything and the first few months you are just considered an “inquirer”. But it is easier said than done, as I have put it off for many years until now. There is so much to learn! And when in doubt, try praying regularly and see where it takes you.

I struggled my young adult years with how some individuals in churches professed they were the judges of what the church was, what the gospel means by their views, that they would say who or what faith would be in heaven. and judging others. As I aged I realized that it I could be empathetic for judgers without it affecting me going to church. It wasn't God/church. I watched as a family member, I still love, posted hate along with daily bible and faith filled memes. For a long time I fought it internally - is this what faith about. I finally figured out that my faith didn't depend on these peoples views or how they acted. God to me is a graceful God - it doesn't mean that hard or bad things won't happen but that God is there to lean on. I give things up to God all the time and I am at peace with it. My husband almost died again this year. . I watched it happening in front of me as a whole room of people worked on him. (this is the second time in his life - 13 years ago and Jan 4 of 2023). I had strength to be calm bc I knew God was there. The head dr. said you are a strong woman - not at all- I gave it to God. It was out of my control and I knew in my soul that God was with me and my dear husband. I am finding this more and more as I age my faith deepens every day. .I now feel for the people who believe they have all the answers for others. No one does. I don't have to agree or listen but I can be kind. I am so so grateful for my faith; it gives me joy.

I remember when I was in nursing school and learning about germs. I would put the end of my pencil in my mouth and I thought I can't do that there are so many germs. After a day or so I thought, wait a minute I've done this for years and I'm fine. I think all the sanitising and antimicrobial soaps instead of regular soap etc. are hindering us from developing a good immune system. I do realise some people really have to be careful because of medical conditions. Also some situations require it, like during some of the craziness of COVID.

We wear our shoes in the house and we have a lot of pets. Wearing your shoes all over then coming into the house with them does NOT make pets sick. We've literally never had that happen. What did at times make them sick was leaving one pet over at the vet office for the day and they would get an upper respiratory infection and pass that around to everyone. Also I'm with you. I used to do towels separately but I don't wash anything on hot and now I throw everything in together. Sometimes if the towels are new and super fluffy I do them by themselves to not get towel fluff all over my clothes.

I have a drawer full of kitchen towels, and I keep the dirty ones in a basket in the basement until it's full, then I wash them on hot with a little bleach and dry them on hot. I don't combine kitchen towels with other laundry, but it depends on how you use them. If you aren't using them to cover bread dough or dry lettuce, it may not matter. Some people are just using them to dry hands and counters. I also wash fitted sheets separately because I put all of them on the bed at once, one on top of the other. That way, I just have to remove the top sheet when I am changing the linen. So, they never get folded and take up space on a shelf.

I am a Christian. I got saved when I was 23 years old. I had only been married about a year at the time. My husband & I just had our 42nd Wedding Anniversary. I have had issues of different levels with anxiety & depression a very long time. Anxiety since 1996, and depression since 2004. Sometimes mild, sometimes severe. Thank you for addressing both. I do have faith. I go get help from a psychiatrist & a counselor. It is hard to be a Christian and wonder why do I still have a problem with this? In regards to going to church, we got used to not going to church during the height of the pandemic. This year we have tried to be more regular in going. Neither my husband or I really feel like leaving the house. We have stayed home much more Sundays than have gone this year. I love it when we go. Easier to stay home. I do want to get back to going every Sunday or Most every Sunday. Suggestions?

This was a fabulous posting. Thank you both for being real with it all. What God is doing in my heart and life since I started reading the Word daily using the Bible App and The Bible Recap truly amazes me. I did not start until the end of August but am over a month ahead of where I should be because sometimes I just need to read more. I remember Diana saying that research has shown that reading the Bible makes a difference in our lives but it really takes reading it at least 4 times a week. Since the end of August I have misssd at most 5 days and my heart has never been more tender to the Holy Spirit. Thank you for all that you share with us and the Christian role models you have become for me. I trust I am becoming the same for others in my life.

I came to faith when I got to the end of my ability when trying to help a dear friend. The fact that I was out of ideas and options and couldn't help them brought me to my knees, and I turned to our creator for guidance. I had previously felt capable, powerful, and successful with challenges in life. But this time, I was powerless and I reached out to God with total humility. I said "I need you." and was totally open to whatever I should do. I did get guidance. More importantly, I learned the limits of my power and that at times, I need to trust in a greater power. I've learned that admitting I need help is not a weakness. It actually took a lot of strength for me to get there. I learned about grace for myself and extending grace to others. And, I learned to trust that there is a purpose even for the hard things.

We have 3 towels per person. We change out every two to three days and I wash one load of towels each week. I do have to bleach our towels( small amt of bleach) each time. For some reason, even when hung up, they still smell eventually. The only thing I have found to get rid of the smell, without the smell of vinegar lingering, is bleach. I get gray towels, so the bleaching isnt very noticable.

Diana and Dawn how do you feel about Catholics praying to Mary for intercession when Jesus is to be our only intercessor? This has troubled me for quite some time, please respond to this.
@jenb4583 Жыл бұрын
Mary points us to Jesus. 💗
@atroy198311 ай бұрын
Jesus is not an intercessor, He is God. Asking Mary to pray for you is like asking your friend to pray for you. Some people have more grace from God (because they have cooperated with His grace) and their prayers may be more efficacious than your own. Mary was called “full of Grace” by God’s own angel. She was beloved by her son and she was utterly devoted to Him. Why not ask for her prayers, she is so close to her son and wants us desperately to draw nearer to Him.

Sad to say, a lot of Christian extra misc. stuff is no better than what the Pharisees were doing during Jesus' time in ministry. They changed, by adding, so much of the Law that was put in place during Moses' time, that Jesus had to set them straight many times. The Word is all inclusive, yet not to be burdensome, and is to be the guide that helps us build a relationship with God, know the heart of God, and help others to do the same. The Gospels help us to understand what Jesus was conveying and the 'common sense' in applying the Law and Grace. You two are so fun to watch and real! I do real!

@DianaKokku hi fist time leaving a comment…but I’ve watched here and there. I heard your part on appreciating all denominations. Is it possible to do a video on denominations you know are occultish? It’s my understanding that even Catholicism is an occult upholding the Bible secondary to their leader and praying to Marry as a co-redeemer. Do you believe all our denominations should come together? To answer the question of which church do I go to, The Father called my husband and I out of the Christian church in Sept of 2020 telling me He was giving it over to the evil one. Many “Christian” churches are full of false doctrine, and their growth is stifled. My husband and I read, pray and worship at home and are I. Full time ministry, how God wants it not how the world dictates it. I fear many are going down the wide gate…😢
