Lovely fall scene. The look of the apples is fascinating. The color blends are marvelous. Loose sketching of the leaves and acorns on the ground set the stage for the mushrooms. The owl center stage framed by butterflies gives a bit of movement to the center of the work. I am constantly amazed at your composition skill. I will be “emulating “ this piece. Thank you!

Personally, I would love to hear you break out in a song! Also, I want to say that I have watched A LOT of KZbin videos trying to learn how to paint and your narration is always my favorite. I've basically learned how to paint FOR FREE (I do have a small membership) so why in the world would I ever comment or complain about a phrase or wording you use? You do a great job, better than most! I appreciate artists like you who show up and share their art. Love the painting!

I wholeheartedly agree, I also have a small membership but how many lessons I got FOR FREE before I joined. That tiny piffling doesn't count for much and, Diane, your personality as well as your narration just makes the videos all the better. Thank you for your time and effort. Please don't change a thing unless you want to.

I enjoy drawing because I was taught to draw by my fab art teacher at school, I recently joined a FB page for my old school and quickly realized I'm probably talking to the children of the people I went to school with, but someone posted a picture of most of my old teachers, I was amazed,I could see Mr Toft, who was about 7 foot tall and reminded me of the headmaster from the Bash St Kids, in the front row was the scary dept head Miss Pinch, and the softest head master in the world Mr Bishop, the cookery teacher Mrs Vern, who was Indian and delighted us by coating liver in Indian spices which was delicious and the first time I had ever eaten liver which my dad had every week and I hated it , but no Mrs Bradbury my art teacher and no one seems to know what happened to her ,sad really she was much loved got us all through our O level art with much laughter, and she never wanted for baby sitters because we would do anything for her, and also her right hand man Mr Herbi not his real name, just our nickname for him,who used to spend the whole hour lesson telling us our fortune on Tarot cards, none came true he was rubbish, should of stuck with his day job 😂 ☺

That is the most beautiful painting. No need to rush for me, I could watch you paint all day, and sometimes I do. 😜 it’s a shame you haven’t been to Australia, as it’s a great country to visit. You’d love the outback to paint. I’ve been to France a few years ago, and loved it. The Eiffel Tower took my breathe away when the lights went on. I wasn’t expecting that. Did you know that Meeden do not charge postage to Australia which is a real bonus as very often the price of postage is so expensive that it stops me from purchasing from overseas. Can’t wait for the set of brushes to be released. Just a question, I have the Meeden paint set, and love them, but they are very bright and I’d like to make them softer. I keep adding white but that doesn’t seem to do the trick. How can I get a paler colour. And if you did burst into song, I’d sing right along with you. Have a wonderful day, and thank you for being you. You are God’s gift to me. ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks so much for your lovely comments Bev, and for all your help with paint! About the paints, there is so much you can do to change the intensity. Firstly, what kind of white are you using? There are different sorts, and you could try white gouache, which is much stronger at diluting than the white in the paint set. Also, using more water will weaken the colour. Let me know more about what you have tried and I’ll try to help xxxx

KZbin keeps doing me dirty so I was grateful you showed this lovely owl and his friends off in the last video that YT actually did put in my feed. 😂 Might be a good idea to do, I know Lindsey has her last painting or two behind her so I know if I missed one I can just go find it. Either way I've noticed YT has unsubscribed me of the biggest number of artists I've ever had this last month or so which is just so disheartening. It was bad enough that they'd stop showing them then get rid of a few but I've noticed that a considerable number are just gone now. So keep an eye on subscription stats so you can let your audience know to check every once in awhile. I know it's been an issue with others I watch like political etc. and they are aware of it, but since the majority of my feed is art it's now done such a devastating number that I'm trying to track some back down now. Sigh.

I assumed the phrase “come in with” was a British thing. Jamie Oliver uses it often, for example, “I’m going to come in with a knob of butter…”. I don’t find it annoying, just different.

It’s “modern British English” and an affectation I’ve picked up from other KZbinrs from the UK. I hate hearing myself say it! So I’m going to stop! And Jamie Oliver - well, there’s a double meaning in most of what he says!
