Hello Diane! Franci here , I’m in California - near the awful fires 🔥my house is ok -so far- and it’s very difficult to break away from the sad, horrible reality still unfolding 😢with the news, worry and fear. But, you’ve done that, and I’m only a few minutes into this one. It’s funny and interesting…that I’ve been watching you for several months now . This Christmas I finally gotten my own “ Kuretaki “ floral paints- my little meedan watercolor paper block. And how lovely are you to be gifting me (all of us) a mental gift bigger than I’m sure you’ll ever know. So, in a very long winded way I’m saying “thank you “ in the biggest way I can muster. 💞♾💞I’ll try to recycle this love and care 💜

Dear lover of this wonderful channel, I’m so sad for your home state and will add you by name to my prayers for the winds to die down and the fires to go out. You are so cared about by so many all over the world!

Oh my! I’m so sorry for everyone in your area, it’s got to be so devastating! I can’t imagine the stress you are under. I’m glad that painting has helped you. I agree that Diane’s Channel is amazing and so helpful to me too!

Dear Diane, I’ve been enjoying your channel for years. I must say, I get very excited when I see you in the video tending to your lovely pets. Please consider letting us see more of you. Maybe a split screen sometimes…Please. ❤️

Hi Franci, so sorry about what has happened in California and all the loss of livelihood and property and animals and everything - unimaginable really for us who live in other parts of the world which have so far been spared the devastation of fire. Thank god your house is spared. Please try to keep painting and watching as creating even a little corner of beauty helps with the healing. Sending love and prayers to you and everyone affected by this disaster xxx

Some people listen to music and do a voice-over on the video. I love your natural, chatty style and would miss it. You make it seem easy, yet I'm sure it is not. Isn't it interesting how the scarves link back to nature? But what else is there? God created the natural world and gave us creativity to add our part.

Thanks for the inspiration, I love your commentary soo much more than others who use music, so I became a patreon. I'm to have surgery in a week and need your lovely voice to keep me going in my newly discovered journey into the world of watercolor!

Hi Maggie and thanks for your comment x I hope your surgery goes really well and wish you a rapid and complete recovery. Sending love xxx

Love this idea of painting from fabrics around the house. The frosty plants are beautiful - great camera work by Tamsin! And it was so nice to see all your sheep again. I agree with others, that I prefer to hear your voice without music. Sometimes, I have my own music playing quietly while I listen to you. But in any case, I appreciate anything and everything that you provide for us!

Thanks so much! 😊 So glad you enjoyed it - no plans to add music to the videos, it’s only some of the older ones that have music and we gave that up about 2 years ago!

Hi Diane I do these types of paintings just to put paint on paper. It's fun really. I like it. Even though I know I'm wasting paint and paper, sometimes it surprises you that it turns out pretty cool. ❤😂. Some people love it! Then some people say what is that ugh. Lolololol 😊 I don't care it's something I wanted to paint. Oh well. Have fun............!
@DianeAntoneStudioСағат бұрын
Not wasting paper, truly. The only wasted paper is the paper you don’t paint on!

Sorry to hear you have been feeling down. Please know that you are enriching the lives of many around the world with your work! You & Tamsin make the world a better place. Never doubt that. Small question that came to me after you showed the easel with the drawers beneath: Is it better to store dry brushes flat or standing up in a cup? (I understand this is bad for wet brushes). Thank you so much for all you do! By the way, I'm loving the new intros. Is that Tamsin's work?
@DianeAntoneStudioСағат бұрын
Hi Kate and thanks for your comment and questions. Regarding brush storage - I can only say what I’ve done for decades. When I finish painting I rinse my brush and wipe it dry on a towel, then lay it down to dry. Once it’s dry I store it either upright in a rack or pot, or lying down in a shallow drawer. Either works. For me, there is only one really bad thing you can do to a brush. Never, ever leave it standing head down in water, not even for five minutes. A brush left overnight in a jar of water is a lost brush. The glue will soften, the hairs loosen and bend and the metal and wood will deteriorate. The paint will flake off. As long as you don’t do that, the brush is a very tolerant thing!
