Hi, I'm on the autism spectrum, AND I'm a right-brained learner. Unfortunately, public schools here in the US are typically designed for left brained students. Sure, they do offer right brained classes, such as art or music classes, and sure, experiments can be done in science class. But overall, public school classes are taught in a very left brained manner. Sometimes even the right brained classes were taught in a very left brained manner. I attended a private school from 2nd-8th grade (September 2000 through June 2007), where a large portion of the lessons were hands-on or visual, and there was a strong focus on the arts. This worked well for me, as I am a very hands-on learner, followed closely by visual learning. Math was a subject that I always had difficulty with, but art was typically a subject that I did well in. If I were the one in charge of this, public schools would be EXPECTED to adopt a curriculum that fits around the WHOLE brain.

I could have been a strait A student if I had this as a child. Now I have three a freshman in college, a junior in life skills (w/down syndrome), and a 14 year old who doesn't like school. As soon as I can afford this, is will move from my wish list to my shopping cart.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful because I have what I believe is 2 out of my 3 kids that are Right Brain, and I am too. I'm wondering do you have this dvd now on a digital platform, as in a downloadable resource, or on smart tv? I don't have a dvd player any longer and realize they're going out of style most places. Thank you, and I look forward to learning more.🙂
