I feel you missed a "stop insulting the opponents that beat you" point under improvement... I know it's part of better mindset, but you could have pointed out that beeing tilted or frustrated doesn't give him the right to call poeple, who play in ways he doesn't like, all kinds of names. DSP should learn to take both his wins and losses in stride... Instead he acts like people have to play to impress him to even acknowledge their wins ("he didn't deserve it", well who are you to decide that Phil?)

Improving in this game seems kind of pointless. It's my first fighting game ever, and I'm only in gold and I can see the iceberg of information in the distance. Quit the game because of that. The learning aspect of this game seems really unfun, so it's not a good use of time. Memorizing combos, memorizing what is punishable, sitting in training mode. Blech.

@@RP-dy5mu Improving in this game allows you to enjoy it on a deeper level. You can still do absolutely fine with basic fundamentals. the game even incorporates "modern controls" to ease new players into it and then you can move onto the classic controls, but even then basics can get you far. The beauty of fighting games is they are incredibly easy to get into despite what people think but have a rich amount of mechanics underneath the surface you can go into if you want to become even better, the more you put in the more you get out - just like for example playing guitar. If you feel you can't cut it then that's down to you.

Not all fighting games work the same. Not all characters work the same. In T7 the only fighting game I really play, some characters can buffer moves while blocking and others can't depending on what move it specifically is. But in general holding block overrides facebutton fat fingers in that game. Phil fat fingered a button, but he was still holding block, and that's not consistent from fightin game to fighting game.

Thing is about DSP is that it's never him just being bad at the game that we make fun of. It's the fact that he will almost never admit fault. His slow reflexes simply cannot keep up with him, so in his fantasy world everything he does is the optimal thing to do and he's never the one making mistakes. That and his country sized ego. He simply cannot admit to being bad. He can't handle that idea. Being bad at something is fine. Fooling yourself into thinking you're not bad at something is just funny.

DSP does neutral strong, which is key in SF2. In SF6 you can eliminate neutral within seconds with Drive Rush. DSP STRONGEST strength is his flow chart. That's it. DSP is highly dependent on Flow chart. The issue is he's using a flow chart from SF2 and if those characters were in that game ex. Blanka, Ryu, Ken, Chun, Gief etc. That just doesn't fly in SF6 since the characters have been changed so much. If things don't fit that flow chart, then DSP rages and turns to complaining non-stop. If he's going to flow chart the game, then he has to put the work in training mode. He wont' do that though because he's a "Full time streamer" DOOOD. Everything you said was 100% correct. Clearly you've put the work in to respect the game and what it has to offer.

You can see Max be like, "Hey what's a good answer for this blockstring," or "Is that punishable?" and of course somebody has the answer in the chat. Max learns something new that he can practice and implement, the chat feels involved and helpful... everybody wins.

But as an observer what I'm seeing isn't a lack of mechanical skill, but rather a lack of creativity. DSP's problem is not his controller, he uses a joystick. He's a button masher, you can literally hear him mashing buttons while he's exclaiming "I was blocking!" or "I was doing nothing!" (and you could also see it in his inputs). He also doesn't bother to learn and understand Drive Impact beyond using it because its in the game. Also, just a warning: the moment your video garners him negative attention, he will immediately blame you and your fans. DSP has a very fragile ego and I can guarantee you 100% that this will happen (if it hasn't already).

So the EVO win. It should be noted that during that tournament a lot of players backed out because of the port quality. That being said, DSP was still pretty decent at SF2. Main problem with him is: 1. He is a notorious masher 2. He gets really crabby over everything 3. Hes got an ego even though he says he doesnt. 4. He refuses to learn. I have watched this man buy three versions of this game, two controllers and a PC to protect his ego only to lose to the same "flow chart" Cammy

@innocentorphan1213
@innocentorphan1213 Жыл бұрын
He went to training like once in his SF2 collection, his inputs were a mess and he couldn't DP to the left side consistently. So he declared the game must be bugged, not his fault. Recently some goof told him to use drive rush in combos, which led to him doing 2 drive rushes one OD move Ryu combo that ate all 6 bars in one go. Entire night he was in burnout every single match getting bodied for hours. Feels like whoever gave him that advise was trying to sabotage him.

@@V2ULTRAKill Super Turbo had 2 meters to look at, health and a super meter that only mattered when full. And after like 20y of playing that game, DSP still frequently loses a round and throws his hands in the air declaring how "I did super there, didn't come out" when he didn't have the meter. SFV he never learned to use v-meter for anything, he just ignored it. Now we're in this game and there's a meter management system that you really have to know what you're doing with or you'll handicap yourself hard going into burnout. DSP is the dude who had 13 maxed out credit cards. Figure out how that'll play out for him. His amazing 6 bar combo also barely did 50%, starting off a jumpHK in the corner, plus it featured lvl3 super at the end, and he was so impressed with himself about it.

On your spare time maybe you could watch the whole sidescrollers incident. Someone who was giving dsp a fair shake, who tried to help him, wanted to help him, wanted what was best for him became dsp's enemy. Dsp started trashing the guy, his show and the people he worked with because he for some reason felt slighted. He stirred up all kinds of nonsense. Made a huge deal out of nothing and he recently brought one of the guys up and trashed him again. And before dsp felt slighted he was a nice guy. Said nice things. Defended sidescrollers and the people on that channel from his supporters then just like that he showed his true colors. All because he felt wronged in some way. When he did a reaction video about sidescrollers he skipped through the video so he could find things he didn't like that was said about him then complained about it.

Phil reacted to this video in his stream 30 minutes ago and stopped watching it after 5 or 6 minutes, it's very clearly because after minute 5 the video starts pointing out more of his mistakes,and you gave him a review of things to improve on at the end (which he doesn't like since him having to improve means he is not perfect), he also said many times that those inputs were not done by him and that "the game gave him X when he did Y", so according to him analyzing his inputs makes no sense because those were not his real inputs. lol you treated him very fairly but he can't admit he is not perfect.
