@@jerryshepherd1645 I'm getting to be an addict, too. It's been written that she is "like Eva Fitzgerald." No disrespect to Miss Fitzgerald, but honestly, nothing she ever sang did a thing for me. It just went over me, past me, around me. Miss Lewis, on the other hand, is NOT like anyone I have ever heard EVER. Her voice just pierces my soul to the point that I am planning to change my citizenship to Cajun and take buck dancing lessons. That woman, with that brilliant ensemble, floor me in ways I have never been floored.

Rene you and I have a mild disagreement about Facebook but are together in loving this band. It is my understanding that France has played a critical role in the success and development of Tuba Skinny. For example, I think Shaye and Erika met while busking on bicycles in France. It is a story that has not been told clearly. I love the enthusiasm of French audiences at TS concerts. Tuba Skinny will always be a New Orleans band, but no other country has done more to support the band than has France. Thanks for that!

Thank you for this information and I did not know this story of bicycle in France... The 2018 European tour was a real success for TS. All the organizers had to turn away people. However it was not only in France but also in Nederland and Belgium. As for the advantage that I find in a Facebook group is that it is precisely a group relationship and that all people in the group can participate in the discussion. To communicate in private, there is Messenger. What is the flaw you find in Facebook? When you have a passion, it's really great and on the SHAYE COHN FANS group, we are really a group of people who get along and no violence.

@@rchalandon yes, the 2018 tour was great. They have toured most summers, performing in the counties you name and Switzerland. I am sure your fan group includes lovely people who get along. You seem like such a person. My difficulty with Facebook has nothing to do with your group. I think social media are part of a very serious problem in this country with groups lying or misleading people, using social media to promote values and bad information that threatens our system of government. My daughter is among the many folks who use Facebook to share family photos and news, and all of that is a good thing. When Facebook is used to deny the reality of the new virus or to lie about vaccinations, bad policy can happen. I wish you the best of luck with your group, and thanks again to you and France for being so kind to the band we all love.

You can be part of a community where people are violent or dishonest but the advantage of Facebook is that you can customize it as maybe your daughter does based on your passions. I can assure you that in our group, it is never about politics or racism or religion. Many friends come from very different backgrounds but all have only one passion, TUBA SKINNY. It is possible to secure its profile so that no one can reach it.

Magnificent anthology, thank you very much René Chalandon: I guess, how to say, great emotional participation. We are all in love with Erica. But my rational "I" preferred her in the early years on the street when the wind and traffic noises forced her to scream a little, making her look a lot like the first jazz-blues vocalists, shouters and even a little great Bessie Smith. And the whole Group had a rougher style that made you think of the legendary jazz recordings in the ramshackle log cabin of the Okeh! Erica, you have all noticed, in her early years accompanied her body to her voice more than today, with the result of a sort of strong primeval sensuality, without malice, completely natural. Now I am sorry that perhaps for logistical reasons (the States have the problem of long distances) you have preferred a neo-folk group, a genre of music that still gives some success in the US (but not in Europe). I understand that it wants to be valued, but classical jazz loses something. As a critic and jazz enthusiast for over 40 years, however, I repeat once again to the "people of fans" of Tuba Skinny, who appear quite emotional like all the fans, that even without our beloved Erica the group Tuba skinny, under the strong-willed and intelligent musical direction by Shaye, it was and perhaps still is the best living classical jazz group.
