I would say one thing though... A lot of reverts have problems being accepted by "born muslims". So it is nit uncommon for a revert when he says "salam alaykom"... to NOT get a respond back from a born muslim. Maybe its because the born muslims was unsure of what was said (caught by surprise) or... But many reoeat of such episodes... then when "finnaly" a born muslim greets a revert with salam alaykom... Even though the revert know it is wa alaykom salam.. they may get caught offguard... and without any real practice... they end up just quickly responding with salam alaykom. Instead of the wa alaykom salam. Its a phenomen ive seen many times among reverts. If not enough birn muslims responds to greetings from reverts... and the reverts non-muslim family/friends/etc is obviously not greeting that way... therefor a revert will not be so agile in quickly responding correctly when finnaly someone greets the revert.

as muslim men, we can't wear diamonds, necklaces, earrings or bracelets either, even if it wasn't gold. also we can't wear silk as well. muslim women can wear these things though but as far as the items are not too flashy. men can wear wedding ring, and watces. i usually see muslim men wear silver rings. as a muslim boy, i would prefer black titanium ring it looks sick, but silver looks good too
