I have major bulging during the side planks that I cannot control. Do I skip that one or go back to level 2?

I would maybe stay in side plank and work on the initial movement only. So brace the abs, act as if you're going to lift the hips off the mat into a side plank, but don't. Just hold that tension. Or only lift the hips just off the mat. If that's still too tough, you can replace the side planks with side leg lifts in side lying, focusing on keeping the belly flat. Hope this helps!
