To be honest Robbo i ain't in a good place right now, having major bone probs and pain again. Will be doing a health update video once i've had all the tests and scans done to see what's going on with them.

@@DibberInTheWind Hang in there. Pain is exactly that- Pain. Nobody I know likes to hurt. I don’t, but I’m on meds for the rest of my life and I hate it. I think you mentioned the same thing. I hope the hurt subsides, even if it’s just a little bit. It would be nice to have a cure and zero pain. Miracles do happen. It’s time for a miracle. One just has to believe. So what is the actual purpose of a support club? Is it a way to vet potential members or is it more of a way to be involved without fully comitting to membership of the main MC?

Both, depends on the club and what they want a Support Club for.

I'll give you an example. I've got a mate in a VERY famous MC, knew him before he even rode. Lost touch for a while and bumped into him in club gear a year or so later. We swapped numbers again, he invited me to a few nights. I actually avoided them for a while cos I couldn't deal with the hangovers 😂 His circumstances changed and he needed help wherever he could get it. Occasionally they do fundraisers for him, I'll try get mates to come along, buy a t shirt, even chuck spare change in the pot for him. I won't lie, before this I liked hanging around with those guys, made me feel cooler than I actually am. Didn't do anything stupid like throw names about etc, but apart from popping my head in the door at the odd open night I wasn't involved. His situation made me a lot more active. Not just money but keeping in contact, making sure our old colleagues etc send him little things like a Christmas card etc. I don't really go to as many nights cos I don't party like that as much, but I'd rather know my pal's alright, even if I don't speak to him for weeks or even months at a time. The club make sure he gets my greetings and well wishes etc. That's how I'd describe the difference between a supporter and someone with a kind of casual interest. I have a reason to support him - and them. Everyone is different, but I think when it comes to MCs people should really understand what it is they're supporting if they want to call themselves that.

Ain't that the truth, it amazes me how these new age people coming into our scene keep coming up with these ideas of how they can boost their numbers, people maybe don't want to join their club as they can see it isn't being done properly. I say, be a good and well run club, stand by what you preach as a club and get out there and be seen, people may then take an interest in you and your club and you wont have to come up with ways to artificially inflate your numbers.

Support clubs are there for one purpose and that is to support the said club. Not to boost numbers of the actual club. This makes me think though. If a club is struggling to get actual club members to join and prospect for them. Does that not tell them maybe they are doing some thing wrong or behaving in such a way its reppelling potential new prospects. Maybe change some of your club rules and byelaws. You can have 5 billion suporters but it deos not boost the actual numbers of your club President Vice President Secretary Full members and Prospects are your members not support clubs . Look at it like this imagine an MC as a football team. Does the crowd boost the numbers of the team playing on the field? No I am with Dibs on this one, If its to boost numbers its a big NO! in caps

Sound logical to me, if youre going to support something then the word "support" should be a big hint in why you plan on doing it..some great vids lately Dibber, very informative.
