I get asked a lot if particular aspects of SoA are true, today i respond to some of those questions. Bare in mind when watching this video that all clubs are run differently, different chapters/charters of the same club may have the same main rulebook but they may also have their own chapter/charter sub rules to suit the area they operate in.

Very well put. I think what people need to realise about SOA is that it is a fictitious representation of an MC. The reason certain things are placed within the show, such as Gemma's control over the club, are purely there for a narrative purpose. The reason she has such control over the club and its members is purely for narrative development. People need to understand that SOA is a show for entertainment, Kurt Sutter does try and follow a true to life structure of how MC's run but sometimes he has to add things and take things away to make the show more entertaining. I enjoy SOA for what it is, a television show. I think people who go out and start wearing leathers and fake patches (some of whom don't even have a bike license) and get real SOA tattoos need to grow up. You wouldn't go out and become a serial killer after watching Dexter and you wouldn't go out and start cooking Meth after watching Breaking Bad, so why do you think you're a biker after watching Sons of Anarchy? Good video and food for thought for anyone who takes the show too seriously.

You also have to remember that SOA has an accelerated timeline in which events of decades for a regular club rare compressed into a few seasons.

A hard one to give a single definitive answer too, rule of thumb with most clubs is this, what a Brother does when he isn't wearing his patch is his own business, it becomes the clubs business if he's wearing his colours whilst doing it or doing something that could blow back on the whole club or goes against the clubs rules or by-laws. My old club had a strict cut policy, if it's personal or not club related you take the cut off, if it's club business or related you do it with the cut on.

The leave in good standing status is important for people who went to prison for some thing club related and may be barred by probation conditions from having contact with the club. The scandalous play being that someone starts badmouthing the guy, but if the club leadership approved his exit in good standing then the critics are usually obligated to shut up and no action against the individual is authorized.

Couldn't agree more with those first few points. It's got absolutely nothing to do with human rights. They joined a 'group', the group has rules. They broke the rules, they deal with the consequences. Enjoyed the few videos I've seen on your channel, subbed c:

keep it comming! it has pissed me of since SOA started that people nagging about everything in the show." Gemma acts like a true Ol Lady, why do they remove the ink? it,s HIS body and they can not take it back! they show real understanding by letting Juice stay." BOLLOCKS! he would have disapeared faster than a fart in the wind! a bad standing IS a bad standing! the idea you got when you started to post videos and tell the facts about MC,s was brilliant! btw, would have been cool to hear about your oppinion about Sonny Bargers video, "Dead in 5 heartbeats". keep your videos comming and your knes in the breeze. If you pay close attention to season 3 episode 13 you should have come to the realization that the whole club were involved to some extent and not just Jax, the whole season was written so it appeared Jax was going behind the clubs back without their knowledge. Juice on the other hand did what he did without the clubs knowledge or backing, big difference.

Any removal of a tattoo against the wishes of the person concerned would be assault and those involved could and should be prosecuted. Further the assaulted person could well sue those responsible for damages.

When someone joins a club they are told what the rules are regarding having tattoos of the clubs colours put on their bodies, they are told that if they leave the club then the tattoos must come off, be covered up - as in blacked out, or dated for when you left. The tattoos are done voluntary in almost all cases and these guys know the consequences for not blacking them out or having a tattoo cover-up job done if they leave the club or get thrown out in bad standing. I have a blacked out club name on my arm, when i had it done i knew it would have to be blacked out if i left, and i left in good standing, i didn't bitch about it, i didn't go running to the law because i had to have a tattoo blacked out that i already knew would have to be blacked out if i left, we know what we're doing as does everyone else that joins a club and chooses to have the clubs name tattooed on their body. People that run to the law we call snitches, and in my world "snitches get stitches".

Sometimes it's just better to be honest if it doesn't break club protocol or rules, not saying anything or responding with "none of your business" sometimes leaves the door open to speculation, innuendo, false information being invented and told as truth and rumours, none of these things do the club world any good, i think some of the BS told on the internet about bikers and clubs is a prime example.

The full understanding of the concept of a Nomad within a club is a bit lost to me as what is there standing in the club if they are concided nomad and what is there level of Authority inside a club. The reason I ask is cause SOA roughly touches the topic of Nomad but don't fully explain it in some detail. I was wondering if you have an insight on certain topic.

A Nomad member is a full patch member who would have had to earn his patch the same way as everyone else in the Club, my Club has a couple Nomad members but they are only flying Nomad whilst they finish setting up the new Charter in their area, once that's done and they have enough lads to fill the top slots we will remove the Nomad patch and they'll fly the same bottom rocker as the rest of us. Nomad can mean a wandering member, some clubs use their Nomad club to deal with internal matters involving other members of the club, they are not tied to one single chapter/charter, their loyalty is the club itself as a whole entity which is why their services may be called upon. There are lots of reasons why some patch holders fly Nomad, there is no set of fixed blanket rules for all MC's to follow in respects of the Nomad rocker.

@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 7 жыл бұрын
Band patches are fine, just stay away from Black Label Society merch as it's outlawed in the UK and will be confiscated on sight, or anything resembling a 3 patch. Motorhead is possibly one of the only exceptions to the rule as they don't use a 3 patch with rockers layout on official Motorhead merch, they also have a very long standing within the MC community. Check my video play-list as i recently did a video about this very topic.

Because it violates the copyright and trademark of an old British back patch MC, the same MC that showed up in Manchester in 2005 and had words with BLS management about the violation of their copyright and trademark, this ban has now extended to parts of Europe too.

In regards to Juice question, all clubs utilize their members skills as they like to keep everything within the club. Any patcholder or even prospects would remove fake patches, they wouldn't wait for the SaA. SaA principal job is to maintain order within the club itself. he will also enforce the clubs rules and by-laws and is responsible for club security and the members safety and that will also include the safety of the prospects too, he will also reclaim club property if the need arises. H&R

The VLAD Act as i've read it isn't just against MC's, it will effect all bikers who want to ride in a group or be an associate of a club. My advice to all patch holders in Australia is to look past past transgressions and conflicts amongst themselves and unite to fight this BS law, all bikers regardless of if they're linked to a club or not should get on board and fight it.
@DibberInTheWind

Using the term outlaw bikers isn't a good term to use, a lot of patch holders find it offencive due in most part that the media and law enforcement use that term as a weapon against all clubs. As for the SoA patch and where you can get one, i think you already know my answer to that question. H&R

I would always advise new people to the scene to start small and work their way up, if you can get into a good properly run MCC i would suggest doing it that way. If it's a well run MCC with old school values you will learn a great deal about the lifestyle and the rules, this will help prepare you for the MC later down the road. The MC's are the absolute Elites within the motorcycle club world, they have dedicated their lives to their clubs and they will expect the same of you.
@DibberInTheWind

Very much so, i've come up against my fair share of people who think it's really like that. How clubs in general are being portrayed by the media and television is the main reason i've changed from just making riding videos to doing this type of video, people need to know what's real and what isn't and the fact that only a tiny fraction of all the clubs combined fit that SoA stereotyping. The real life club world i know is nothing like SoA or even Devils Ride for that matter. H&R

That's called human nature and it's something humans have done for as long as we've been on this earth, it's like religion and science. Religion will accept and use science when it backs up their fairytale yet reject it as non proof when it demolishes their ideals and beliefs, and yes, to some extent we're all guilty of doing it at some point in our lives.

I'm not into debating the similarities or differences between the two, things like no playing around with a members wife or girlfriend exist in most organizations, as do the military links. What you're doing with these types of comments is reinforcing the idea that the two are like eachother when the truth of the matter is they're a million miles apart. Cosa Nostra is 100% about crime, they are crime organizations, motorcycle clubs are not regardless of how the media spin it.

In season 6 episode 12 I believe, the DA said to jax "I see how you got to your rank" and then jax said "unfortunately I inherited it" in a club would the son of a president or high ranking member be able to simply "inherit" his position within the club, much like how all of the members were quite older than jax and new him since his childhood, and jax came to the Vice President position, do you think that a son of a member would have such an easy time rising to such a high rank?
@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 10 жыл бұрын
Firstly you need to know that the character Jax is in his mid 30's in the show, he was born in 1978, he is also a lifer which means he's been in the club since he was old enough to become a member, in some clubs he would also be known as a Legacy member as his dad was in the club. Jax's would have had to work his way up the ladder just like any member of a club would, in MC's they don't vote people into a position because of who their father was or is, you get voted by what you know and if you have what it takes to hold the position, favoritism doesn't come into play in an MC, if you cant carry the rank then you don't get it. Jax was the VP (Vice President) and in most cases depending on the clubs rules he would automatically become the Club President if the existing President was voted out, left the club, stepped down as President or died, much the same as if the President or Prime Minister of a country dies or steps down, their vice would take their place, that's what Jax's means when he said "he inherited the position of President", If however the rest of the club didn't think he could carry the rank they could call for a vote for a new President but the person standing for that position would have to be able to carry the the club and have a good leadership track record. Jax's would have had to earn his old VP patch just the same as any other club officer had to earn theirs, Jax's wouldn't have been cut any slack whilst prospecting because his dad was one of the original founders, everyone goes through the same prospecting period to become a full patch member and he would have had to have 100% yes vote at the table before he got his patches. You need to bare in mind that Jax's is the voice for the whole club, not just his own Chapter, he is the President of the Mother Club who would head the table at the international level and what they say goes, Jaz's wouldn't hold that rank if the rest of the club didn't think he has what it takes to be there.

First off you are a wise man and respect to you. Second sons of anarchy is a cool show and entertaining but that’s it. Many good men have done what most can’t to earn whatever colours they wear so they deserve respect so sons of anarchy patches should NOT be worn by anyone! But you have to understand a lot of people have no idea what they are doing by wearing sons of anarchy merchandise to them it’s just a cool show and they don’t understand the real club life.

+dibberinthewind what r the odds that u would unfairly be forced to leave the club by the club?
@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 7 жыл бұрын
If you're outed from a club there is always a reason and a club vote held for the removal of your patches and all other club insignia including tattoos, however, there are instances where someone may be unfairly outed but that is rare in the MC world, usually the behaviour of clubs that don't know any better or those that don't honour our traditions.

I cant speak for MC's in general but i know a few that wont tolerate scooter clubs wearing back patches full stop, i'm of the same ilk i'm afraid. I advise all scooter clubs to conform to the rules laid down by the senior MC in their area and get patches sanctioned, I've already worked with a couple scooter clubs behind the scenes via this channel with advise, the clubs i've been advising have done the right thing and spoken to the local MC and got patches sanctioned with good results H&R

No you don't have to be a drinker to be in an MC, i know a few people within some of the biggest clubs that have never touched alcohol.

Im interested in riding a bike and have been checking out Harly Davidsen bikes, as a new rider what bike do you think would be socialy acceptable with in Harly bikers groups as a starter bike? I have seen the Harly street 500 and 750 and they are affordable, I also live in the city, I have been told that a real Harly starter bike is a 1200 and start with a lowrider. What should I do?

what is the main difference between a charter and a chapter? To me it sounds it's pretty much the same thing. Are you able to clarify that?
@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 6 жыл бұрын
A charter is what's granted by the Mother Club to a new Chapter of the club in a different location, rights and privileges to wear the club colours, use it's name etc. H&R

is it true that alot of clubs dont allow ppl of different races
@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 10 жыл бұрын
Yes there are a lot of clubs that don't allow other races, there are Hispanic clubs that don't allow non Hispanics, there are white clubs that wont allow non whites, there are all black clubs that only allow black members, in answer to your question, there are hundreds of clubs that are only for people of their own particular race.

+DibberInTheWind sorry I didn't know how to get your attention so I just replied. I ride with Menace MC here in the states. I'm a prospect and its crucial that we be in church to discuss upcoming runs and events. however after the session of church we take a five minute break. after break full patches have chapel. Chapel is the portion that no one but a full patch is allowed in unless you're requested by a full patch. love your videos and the way you're educating the public. keep it up! a big fan, Menace MC Prospect Marbles

Is that a truth sotry about SoA? Was the tv show was made by some biker club, or is just maked like fiction from head?
@DibberInTheWind
@DibberInTheWind 7 жыл бұрын
No, the show wasn't made by some biker club. The show was created by a man named Kurt Sutter, who isn't a club member but a television and film writer that spent time with a couple prominent MC's learning how clubs are run etc. There were members of a very prominent club involved in the production and they were also in the series as members of SAMCRO, there were also members of other real MC's playing characters in the other clubs on the show. The main SAMCRO members that are actually real MC members are as follows - Sonny Barger (Lenny "The Pimp" Janowitz), Chuck Zito (Frankie Diamonds), Rusty Coones (Quinn), David LaBrava (Happy) who are real Hells Angels members in the real world.
