In this video, the strain is calculated from the echo image using the digital image correlation (DIC) method,
This video introduces a new measurement technique in the medical field that uses digital image correlation (DIC) to calculate strain from echo images.
This technique allows us to more accurately capture physical changes and visualize minute fluctuations.
This makes it possible to more precisely diagnose medical conditions and evaluate the progress of treatment.
Two experiments are presented in the video.
In the first experiment, a cross-section of a human carotid artery is photographed using echography to measure its strain.
In the second experiment, the movement of the wrist is filmed and its strain is measured.
We hope that this will provide a new perspective for the medical field and be a step toward more advanced research and the development of diagnostic techniques.
