In a post apocalyptic setting, an alien civilization has invaded Earth. Players work together as part of a special ops team with the code name "ELITE". They are dispatched to high priority missions - protecting objectives and defending vital targets against the alien invaders.
Project: ELITE is a co-operative, real-time, speed-dice, tactical, tower-defense-like game in which players roll dice with symbols as fast as they can allowing them to do various actions with their character on the game board. They move around shooting and cutting through waves of aliens blocking their advance while at the same time trying to complete objectives that will bring them to victory.
The game consists of a number of real-time 2-minute rounds (depending on the scenario) separated by an AI Alien Phase where aliens perform abilities, advance towards their goal and receive reinforcements.
The constant performance of actions through dice rolling combined with an innovative combat/movement system result in a mix of intense gameplay that offers countless hours of fun.
What really makes Project: ELITE unique is the "Alien Move" symbol that appears on one side of each of the player's dice and forces him/her to move an alien towards their goal.
The end result is a real-time tactical board game where friend and foe are in constant motion, trying to prevail over the other. ----------------- description from Publisher

Thanks for the review. I like this format: look at the components, explain how to play the game, do a demo of the game.. and then review. It covers all the bases. Yes, it takes some time, but having the links to the different sections helps with that if people want to jump there. Good stuff.

Thanks to BGG User Anthony Czerwonka for pointing out that the Solo setup rules do specify you spawn as if your were playing a two player game. You do have the 5th die but your at an extreme disadvantage than a regular two player game. Your rolling 3 less dice have the same amount of time to make decisions and need to control two characters. If your experienced or like a challenge playing with two spawns makes sense otherwise we suggest following the rule of one spawn per player. We did see a comment that got deleted about us reviewing the expansions, that is part of the plan for the game we do have some reviews and other videos scheduled until the end of August after that we will be looking at getting some of the expansions reviewed. We plan to review the Rook Team expansion in conjunction with one of the smaller boxes and will probably do the same with the Terran Box and another expansion. We would like to have them completed before the end of this year but it will depend on what other projects come our way.

Thanks for the video. Maybe I should reconsider real-time board games. I don't have positive associations with them. For me, they're more stressful than fun. I'm naturally a slower-paced person, so the timer tends to be too short for me. I don't want to adjust the timer, because then I would feel like I'm cheating. Also, I tend to be concerned about getting the rules wrong which slows me down even more. Maybe these types of games are just not for me. Either way, I enjoyed the video. :)

Glad you enjoyed the video. If you wan to try some real time games check out 5 minute dungeon the game is fast paced and a good intro into the genre and it’s lack of complexity makes it easy to make decisions even with a timer. The way the dice work at least in two player games we never felt really under the gun so if you do try the game go with lower player counts before a higher one as that’s when it will he really chaotic. The fact that it’s two minutes with some time to make decisions afterwards does make the game more manageable overall. If you try it let us know if you liked the game!

@@newbreedcreator Yeah if your normally a solo player then we can see how this one wouldn't work. A simple solution would be to set the timer for two minutes and just control one character then do two minutes and control the second character. Jayson didn't love playing it solo it probably takes some practice to get used to the game solo. If you get to play with a group 5 minute dungeon should be a hit it's still pretty fun solo but are best experiences have been with a group.

There are time stamps in the video description, we do this for all of our videos as we take a look at the components, do a full teach of the game and then review it. We time stamp the video so that you can watch whatever content you want and find it easily, that way if you feel like coming back for something else later say you buy the game and just want to learn how to play you can watch that. The video is titled a Review and How to Play so it will be longer than just a review video

Holy cow - what a singularly unuseful (yes - I know it should be useless) reply .. If you can't commit to a video that long - then just don't! Go find a short one. Do not denigrate those who have taken the time to put this much trouble into a video. If your attention span is not able to deal with one hour .. that's on you.. if you don't have an hour to spend .. You cannot play the game anyway.
