Dicefolk: What is this game all about?

Drums and I want to learn more about the rogue deck/dice builder genre. We found this very fun and clever game called Dicefolk. Come join us play for the first time and try to break down its mechanics, understand what makes it appealing, how it achieves it uniqueness, and learn from it as much as we can as we pursue an idea for our next game.
