I also collected some of their pictures from the tabloids back then as well. Just like today, I was listening to the music of my 60's childhood and looking at their pictures at the same time.

Ah yes. 1985. The year that both Eva and Merv started going out together on a steady basis. They stayed together for the rest of the 80's and into the 90's.

And of all the guests that Merv Griffin had on his talk show, he only had eyes for his dahling Eva! In fact, it was in late 1985 that I started seeing pictures of them in the magazines and the tabloids a lot. In the December 16, 1985 issue of Us magazine, they were photographed at this gala for Prince Charles and Princess Diana at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida that he also emceed. There's are also two videos on here of them at the All-Star Party for Ronald Reagan, also in December of '85, and for Clint Eastwood the next year (1986). It was taped on September 28, 1986 and it aired on CBS two months later on November 30. The one with Ronald Reagan was taped on December 1, 1985 and it aired a week later on December 8. I have an album full of pictures of them on cellphone. This may sound crazy, but I look at these pictures of them while listening to my cassette tapes of weekend oldies shows that I taped off of the Philadelphia radio stations during the time that they were both dating. Just like then, it makes me feel good all over!

As a man, it's your responsibility to keep a distance between yourself and another male, Merv Griffin has no sense of that space and distance whatsoever. Man, as well as any animal on planet earth has an inherent script to follow if not everything is likely to look good to you.
