Britain Pearson Five,you could tell that the Jackson Family had some influenced on them. The ladies favored Janet & Rebbie and the sons favored the Jackson brothers. Five Star voices were even similar to the Jackson voices. Both families were just stunning.

I think what happened with 5 star in the 80'S was they didn't get the backing to become Big like the Jackson's, New Edition , New kids on the block..etc... But they were just as great as any of those groups back then and NOW!! DIFFINITELY!!

Not to mention the were pretty paralleling with The Jet's who was pretty much taking the U.S. by storm. They didn't leave much room for 5 Star considering both groups surfaced around the same time.

I was waiting for their tour of the USA years ago. Their first 2 cd's were and are still mid/late 80's r&b/pop perfection! I loved Denise's voice (check out her recent solo project), the group's harmonies, the moves and yes "good looks" all had me sucked in from 1985 till about 1988. I love discovering new clips of them (old and new).

@Jelani Armstrong No, I don't know where you took that assumption from...but it isn't true...many black artists succeeded right after disco. And white artists always flourished too. The situation regarding 5 Star is very specific...they resembled a lot with the Jackson family which at some point was detrimental to their success in the US...both the media and their label haven't pushed enough and were somehow biased towards them...

They forgot about their British fans when they moved and tried to crack the USA. I think they became complacent thinking it would be easy. They were a terrific group.

It’s easy to see why. America is the biggest market and black music is an industry unto itself here. They did very well in the black music market.
