Henry Paul was with the Outlaws when they were at their best. He was gone after Hurry Sundown and as far as I’m concerned that was their last best album. Don’t get me wrong the outlaws will always be great but those first three albums were killer, no filler

Was Henry's name his original name? I know his grandfather was named Henry Paul. How did his mother Helen fit into things?

It was bad enough when Frank O'Keefe's personal issues forced him out of the Outlaws. But, Henry Paul's departure ruined their dynamics enough to bring on the inevitable downslide. And Mutt Lange, that jerk, completely wrecked their signature sound.

Henry Paul leaving the Outlaws was the best thing to happen to them. He gets entirely too much credit for their success which peaked after he was gone. And the way he stole the band's name from Hughie's widow shows what a rat he is.

To marAre you freaking kidding me the best thing that ever happened to the outlaws was Henry Paul leaving they became so hot after you left with Billy Jones Harvey Dalton Arnold Daviid Dix on drums Freddie Salem on guitar and vocals you don’t know what you’re talking about

@@edwardhenry3158 ....I began listening in 1975....45 years now and I have all their releases. There were way too many personnel changes and they went in a different musical direction after Henry left. Ghost Riders in the Sky, a cover song, got lots of airplay and saved them....for awhile, but only postponed the inevitable. By 1981 the band could no longer command headliner status at every venue. So, don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about just because you dislike what you'reading. Here are stats on their album sales and an astounding list of former band members. You can see the data for yourself. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlaws_(band)

@@Rockzilla404 ....It seems you're unaware of Hughie pilfering the idea for Green Grass and High Tides from a long time friend of Frank's and the band's. He hung out with the guys when they were a Tampa area bar band and an occasional roadie and driver. None of these guys were saints---I never said they were. This kind of theft, deception, use of trickery and dirty double dealings go on often---I know this. But, I also know not to believe everything said or written is 100% truth either. Nobody is ever totally honest when there's so much bitterness and bad blood among formerly friendly and cooperative bandmates.

Henry Paul only carries on the outlaw name because is the only way he can make money he doesn’t have Billy green no more his band tried to go country and the name was Blackhawk that fell apart so he just goes and try to carry on just like Johnny Van Zandt trying to carry on Skynyrd in my opinion it’s all bullshit the 70s we’re great time for southern rock it’s all over when the free bird fell in77 Rossington collins Tried and Artemis pile don’t get me started

Agreed, but that aside, and getting back to the above video clip, Dick Clark seemed to be good at interviewing recording artists of all genres. He seemed respectful to all the members of Henry's band, Henry included. And Clark seemed to ask intelligent questions.
