I always tell this story about Men at Work: I got up early on the morning of Saturday, September 18, 1982 to watch MTV (I was 12 years old at the time so it was what I did every Saturday morning! In fact, I watched MTV constantly in those days… maybe 4 to 6 hours per day!) On this particular morning, I saw the video for “Who Can It Be Now?” for the first time. I’d never seen the band before, although, as I said, I watched MTV every day. It was as if they just appeared out of nowhere and suddenly they were playing their first video every hour. I think I saw it four times that morning before I switched over to Bandstand at 12pm. As you know, MAW was the guest band on the show that day. I told my mom, “ i’ve never heard of these guys before today but this band is going to be huge!” And they were! I have all three of their albums and love them to this day.

I was 12 then too, and watched the same show, and incidentally, Be good Johnny was my favorite junior high song of that time, listening to it over and over and over...

Cool clip! I never saw Ron + John speak before, so this is a treat! And now I know why John always wore shades! Too bad these guys just couldn't get along as their music was fantastic.

This interview perfectly explains why Colin and Greg were usually the only ones that were interviewed:The other three were very talented musicians, but when the microphone was put in front of their mouths, they never had very much to say.Colin and Greg, however, were NEVER at a loss for words! They always had something to say,and it was usually funny. However,I agree that it is nice to hear at least Ron and John say a few words here.Great band, great interview!

I've never seen Colin wear a bow tie before.. I love it! If I was alive in the 80s, I would have been crazy for him; I am now, too, so it all works out regardless, I guess haha.

Tall poppy syndrome. We can blame it on a musical quiz show. Maybe, and he should countersue the rights owner of kookaburra…. Due to the homophobic slurs in the song. And how it has damaged men at works reputation. “Gay your life must be”. The last line of the song
