A wonderful tribute for a man certainly worthy of such a video. Dick's biography "Mann of His Time", written by Ed Youngblood, remains one of the best books that I have ever read. I can't imagine anyone who enjoys motorcycling not being mesmerized reading about this man's life on two wheels.

@@Media66inc I wound up riding motorcycles because my dad had started doing so back in the 60's when I was just a little kid. I tip my cap not only to Mr. Mann, but also to any of his contemporaries who helped pave the way for those like me and countless others who benefited from their efforts and enthusiasm.

Fantastic! Richard and Kay have been blessing of great proportion. It was especially so that it was a tough time in my own life. He never acted superior, but was rather championing and reassuring me that life would turn around. It did, of course. His knowledge and experience was staggering, but what I remember is him telling me everyone goes through hell in life sometime, but Keep going. I’m still going . Love and blessings always

I've one of his mk4 TT500s with the original tank and side covers. [That frame was derived from his XR500 kit]. After several emails he gave up and replied and verified what it was. Told me another UK frame with cobby welding would have been his own first build. Humble about his talents.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's when I loved dirt bike racing, RRMC would hold scrambles several times a year, and we tried to make as many as we could. It was a great piece of land to race on. One race was very muddy because of all the rain. A hill climb was a part of the sramble that day. No one could make it up that slick hill without jumping off and push the bike up the hill. Then Dick Mann shows up with a 250 with the biggest knobby tire I've ever seen. Dick just flew up the old slick hill like it was level ground. Then went on to lap everyone in that heat. Ha! we thought we were pretty good riders. Dick was great. And a nice guy.

Nice video. I saw him race at Sacramento a couple of years in the mid 60's, one year with the number 2 plate, not sure about the other year. He was working for my father-in-law at Karl's Motors at the time.
