I love this commercial so much! It reminds me of my own childhood and how I grow up playing ping pong at home. I couldn’t see it in a better time because we are ordering one table for our office this week and I guess I know where to get one now!

Just so you all know... Dick’s Sporting Goods locations NEVER sold AR 15 type rifles. It astonishes me that none of you right wing people in these comments have ever bothered to know that. We had 30 Field and Stream stores in the over 850 stores in the entire company that even carried a limited amount of those types of firearms. You’re basing your biased opinions on stuff you’ve heard the media blowing it out of proportion. This company treats me and my family with respect and it has in the 4 years I’ve worked for them. If you had asked a tenured employee of Dick’s Sporting Goods one of them could have told you the same thing.

Guy who did the music for this advert, Langhorne Slim and his drunk coked up friends surrounded a guy in a car, trashed the car and attacked the man who subsequently died. He then refused to name his accomplices to the metropolitan police who tracked him down in London ( he'd already fled Glasgow where the crime took place) and left the country. This happened in Scotland 2008. Well done to Dick's sporting goods for promoting this deceitful little man

Weird..someone replied but I can't see it. But to answer it..no. You DON'T bounce the ball on the serve. You are supposed to TOSS the ball on the serve. The rules are very clear. You must hold the ball with an open hand, and must toss it at least 6 inches up before hitting it (before it bounces). Your SERVE has to bounce on your side...but you don't bounce and then hit as the father is incorrectly teaching his daughter in this commercial. Sorry JohnnyB...but if you have no idea what you're talking about, save yourself the embarrassment of commenting as if you do.

The serve came later.. Like tennis. The serve is complicated. You hit the ball underhand to start. Then you begin to learn the more dynamic shots, like the serve.

Just like ping pong the serve is dynamic and difficult. As a child, like the one in the commercial, she's short, very short. Throwing the ball up on a serve may prove to be very difficult, or HARDER, as you put it.. So you don't start her off that way. I've taught competitive ping pong, as well as tennis, I KNOW! You start off by getting the rally going. It's a process. Do you play pool? Have you ever taught a child how to play pool? You wouldn't give a child an adult cue now would you? Or do you think that that's IDIOTIC as well? And people who use just the backhand are learning as well. They're not idiots. You're coming off as extremely rude and disrespectful. Not to mention wildly uneducated. Calling people stupid and idiots because they're not playing ping pong to the standards you think is correct is childish. Be better than that "KnickKnack". This world is full of "people" who are over opinionated and entitled and think they know more than they do. Until they come across someone who actually knows about that profession and field of study. Just sit back and listen, you may learn something!!
