These cable public access shows were a cheaply produced as you can imagine. However we owe our thanks to Skip E Lowe (RIP) for interviewing these celebrities "back in the day". And thanks to those who are reposting these vintage interviews. ...Rowby.

I only watched "Bewitched" to see the great Agnes Morehead as Endora. I loved how she tormented Dick York as Darin!
@kateclemons59213 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but in true life she adored York.

A very nice guy, according to TWO co-starring actresses in two different TV series. I can't think of a better compliment.

Yeah Lowe was shockingly bad even for those days. He interrupts, cross-talks and says strange things. Just horrendous and cringingly camp!!!! Says to Dick Sargent “you’re very underrated” (in other words no one in Hollywood thinks you’re a good actor) to which Sargent looks like he’s just received a back handed compliment, screwing up his face, when in fact it’s an insult. He answers “I wouldn’t say that” (because he knows saying you’re underrated means that you’re not seen as a good actor in the industry). In any event, it’s true that Sargent wasn’t ver well-cast in Bewitched following in the footsteps of the excellent comedic acting skills of the plastic-faced, brilliant Dick York. Having said that, he was by all reports very loved and championed (as a gay actor) by Liz Montgomery. Less so by Agnes Moorehead - but his casting in Bewitched was unfortunate. Despite being gay, he just couldn’t seem to project sexual chemistry or “act in love” with Liz Montgomery and that’s the downfall of that performance which relied on the romance between the principals to carry the show. It’s so strange how these things pan out because he seemed like such a nice man when interviewed and he had a certain iconic handsomeness, so it’s weird that it just didn’t work. It’s great that Skip managed to interview all these now deceased icons of the small and big screen; but he was just such a bad interviewer and so cringey. The cringe-factor was beyond.
