Dickey Overby and Bobby Flores. Don't you know there is beautiful music in Heaven.

One of the best Steel men to ever sit behind a steel.

I am edified that Amber's boy is carrying on Mr. Overby's legacy with the steel. We were amazed to see the profoundly deep kinship that all the musicians in and around Brady, Tx seemed to have, while visiting there during the Heart of Texas Country Festival last Spring. This music and musicianship has to be "in the blood." My greatest regret was not being able to meet Dickie and Bobby in person. Their music, however, is heaven-sent. Both they, their music, and their influence live on in so many, treasured ways.

Dickey’s playing goes in directions that I don’t see coming and it always knocks my socks off. What a musician!

Dickeys playing makes me remember why, when I first heard a pedal steel guitar, why I HAD to learn to play one. There was no choice for me.

Dickie was kind enough to pass on many tips and techniques to a dear friend of mine Buck Dickey. It was Dickey teachin’ Dickey.
