You and your kids will love it - it is a lot of fun! It will be a drive, I know, but make it a day and enjoy all that Fort Worth has to offer - and maybe check out Chisolm Trail Skatepark - it's about 20 minutes from this one and is fun too

Love the plaza design. Northeast Metro skatepark in Pflugerville/Austin needs an expansion that is exactly like this.

yay! Pumped to be an almost-Geezer! haha, great overview of this park. As a mostly street skater, it's cool to see a park mostly based around that type of design. But also, your shade complaint is one I feel like (especially texas) skateparks should take into consideration when building. Cant wait to skate this one day! (On a colder day of course haha)

Def a shade pavilion would help. Hopefully one will be added soon. Also more barriers to stop stray boards from rolling onto Hemphill. Other than that my son and I love the park.

Good point - that’s crazy not to have lights - I get that in the summer, it’s not that bad, but our winters are pretty mild, so having the park go dark by 6 or 7pm is an issue. Hope they add some soon!

The park name is too long. I think we locals have come to the consensus to call it just Dickies. This park definitely needs pavilions. The trees will be nice in 20 years but sadly a few of the trees have already died and others are not in good shape currently. little kids whos parents wont let them go into the plaza will get bored so they climb on these trees breaking off the limbs which takes away precious shade. I think the reason the city of fort worth does not want to provide shade or restrooms is because this arealt used to be a homeless hangout. They are probably afraid it will become a place where homeless would loiter all day if they had those facilities. In my opinion, excluding pavilions and restroom facilities is yet another anti homeless maneuver by the city of fort worth. Ohter than that, it is a pretty good park
