I would not think you'd need to remove the trigger assembly section for routine cleaning, maintenance but the DV was well produced, 📹 informative. Due to the nickel, marine style surface coating, I'd add a few tips on which gun cleaning-grease products to use & which to avoid; 🚫, ammonia-mineral oil-dish soap-WD40 etc. In general, I'd say a well made CLP like Slip 2000 EWL, Ballistol, Rand CLP, Hoppes 9 solvent, Froglube grease/solvent would be ok.

@mick5740 overall I've been very pleased. The tolerances are tight and it'll eat any ammo I've used. Take down is easy enough. the kick on it is pretty strong since it's not a heavy gun but it's a 12 Gauge so the kick is implied.

Great job Dickinson Arms. I just got my this Dickinson XX3D-M-2 shotgun today and I am sure I will be purchasing more Dickinson products going forward. I was wondering about the Muzzle Bake Choke. The Dickinson Manual states that Dickinson shotguns accept Benelli/Beretta chokes. Is that correct and do they have to be this Muzzle Brake style choke? What are my options if I want to use different chokes for different purposes? I am asking because I want to use this shotgun for different situations. Thanks for a very clear and concise video. So dry fireing for test is okay? Iv dry fired a few times just to get a feel of the fire arm its my first shotgun so wasnt sure of the durability of the firing pin.this video h as givin me more confidence in disassembly.will get snap caps in the future but love this gun its bad ass!

Thanks for the video. I just got the gun home and tried to disassemble it for proper cleaning before going to the range. I cannot get the barrel off and I am following your instructions perfectly. Thinking because it is new things might be really tight, so I tried squirting some Rem Oil and letting it sit. After an hour I still can't get the barrel off. The gun functions OK and there is no evidence of wear or damage. Any suggestions?

I just wanted to thank Christian @ Dickinson Arms for assisting me with my issue on my new XX3D-M-2 shotgun. The machining is very tight, which is good. The solution to my issue above was to take off the barrel nut and use the pump as a ram to "knock" the barrel out of the firearm. It took about 4 "hard pumps" and the barrel and pump assembly came apart. Christian mentioned that this happens from time to time and with use, it will break in. Putting the barrel back on was just as tight and all I did was slowly tap on the barrel's end with a piece of scrap wood. Took about 5 "taps" and I was golden. During my cleaning and inspection, I will have to say I was very surprised and pleased to see minimal machining marks and the fitting of all parts was very tight. That shows to me that the machining was held to a high tolerance and there was pride in the workmanship. Is this the same as a Benelli, of course not. However, for the price that this firearm is selling for, there is HUGE value. The only thing I would like to see is having the option to expand the tube with a tube expander without voiding the warranty. Maybe Dickinson Arms will be making a 2-3 shot extender in the future. Keep up the good work.

I bought this shotgun last month from Big5 and took it to the gun range this morning for the first time. I purchased 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch shells. Every 3-4 shots fired, the spent round gets stuck in the barrel and will not eject. I have to wait several minutes to be able to eject the spent round. Suggestions?

They used to come with an adjustable stock and a hard case. It seems like some stores where these cost a little more money still have the the hard case when you buy it. I'm not sure but I don't think they have the adjustable stock available anymore.

@@notsosilentmajority1 From what I gather some of the earlier models held 4 in the tube and had an adjustable stock that held 4 shells (and came with a hard case). my local has a newer model in stock, holds five in the tube and has a non-adjustable stock w/5 shell holes but no hard case, just a cardboard box. I emailed Dickinson and they said I could buy the adjustable one (with 4 shell holes) for $45 which is a decent price IMO.

To confirm, none of our guns have ever been sold with adjustable stocks. Our XX3 series are all 5 + 1 capacity. Some of our XX3 series come with hard cases and some don't, the XX3D-M-2 model does come with a case. If you are interested in an adjustable stock please give us a call.

I'm having issues taking mine down for cleaning. I take off the cap on the magazine tube and slide the action halfway while depressing the slide lock button and it still feels almost locked in place. Am I missing something like another nut or cap somewhere

Hi Jay, we don't recommend removing the magazine tube. Unfortunately it wasn't designed to be easily removed. We maintain ours by spraying wd40 down the tube and let it drip out, then follow it up the next day by spraying Ballistol down the tube. If you need more help please give us a call.

I bought this product in May this year and tried it a couple of times only to experience that the first shell (buck or slug 2 3/4) almost always get stuck and won't come out with usual racking .. i even lubricated shotgun and still experiencing similar issue .. at times fired shell also get stuck but with a bit hard racking it either comes out or have to used hand to pull it out ... can't seem to figure out the issue .. tried different shot shell brands .. finally emailed Dickinson awaiting their help.

I shot my shotgun of this same exact model years ago, and the rear sight flew off, and the heat shield came apart from the bolts giving out and now I'm stuck with only the peep sight of my shotgun remaining. It literally fell apart from one of my shooting trips and I'm not too happy about it.

I wanted to like this gun and I did for a little until my heat shield and rear sight/rail blew off and broke off it’s screw after only 200 rounds at most. I haven’t had time to send it off, but hopefully it doesn’t cost much to fix.

I finally had a chance to try and shot my Dickson Tactical Shotgun or at least I tried. But after the first slug it doesn't eject the casing. And trying to eject it by pumping it it's near impossible. I tried 2 different brands of slugs and no luck. Just emailed Dickson. Hopefully they can be of assistance..

It all depends the brand of the round you are using. Federal, fiocchi, Remington, & aguila are some brands that I’ve used that have been able to fit the full 5+1.

Kicksology is correct! Some shotgun ammunition is longer than others which limits the capacity. Not much we can do about that, we just have to recommend you use the shells that are slightly shorter.

I know this shotgun wasn’t designed for hunting, but at close range it wouldn’t be an issue. I am curious how you would add a magazine plug to make it legal. If I remember correctly, after you unscrew the cap on the magazine, there was some sort of plastic disc with a hole in it in the magazine tube. How do you go about removing it without breaking it?

Hey guys I messed up bad whilst disassembling the barrel and the gun. I accidentally dropped the bolts back in without it being on the pump action. @@eseteardrop These shot guns accept Benelli/Beretta chokes & some upgrade parts like a 7 round mag tube extension. There is a very minor modification, *(removing an inner stop ring with a Dremel Tool)* that will most likely void your factory warranty so, be absolutely sure that you want it.

Yes! To take off the existing stock, you first remove the buttplate. There is a screw for the buttplate near the sling mount under the shell holder. Once that is off you'll need a hex head socket (6mm if I remember correctly) and a really long socket extension because the bolt that holds the stock in is rather far back. Remove that bolt and the stock will come off!

Mine is straight junk every time I shoot the gun the shell gets stuck and I have to slam the pump down to get the shell to eject I have had nothing but problems with this gun… from the reviews this seems to be a huge problem with this gun

its a smooth bore with choke

To confirm what Dusty said, yes its a smooth bore with a cylinder bore muzzle brake choke.

Loved mine until the nut stripped its self that holds the heat shield on.

Any luck with a replacement nut or is it specialized?

I picked up a replacement from the hardware store. It’s a marine gray finish so the one I found doesn’t match exactly and I added some locktight too. Actually the whole bolt and nut flew off after shooting almost 400 rounds one night. I was lucky I found them.
