This is a bit of a surprise!! I have been listening to Slot for more than 10 years and they are fantastic outfit! Slot ( Слот) The members of the group are Daria "Nookie" Stavrovich, Igor "Cache" Lobanov, Sergey "ID" Bogolyubsky, Nikita Muravyov, Vasiliy «Ghost» Gorshkov. Daria is a fantastic singer, her rendition of her own song at the Russia Voice 2016 of "ripples on the water" ( круги на воде) is worth watching, she literally slays the audience. There are two other Russian bands I like who have the same female singer are called Tracktor bowling and Louna!! One more thing regarding Slot their song " they killed Kenny" ("Они Убили Ккнни") is extremely funny which is based on South Park

This is a very old song, written almost 14 years ago. It has never been a hit for Slot. And now it sounds a little strange. Take something new - for example, a new video "Stage of Anger" was released a few days ago. Try to watch it.

You know how there are some bands you need to grow up to listen? For me this is one of those. I was like 10 or 12 when they started and it's only now that I finally feel this music. I'm 27. P.s. No, I was 7 when they started, but I was 12 when they actually exploded with the «Trinity» album and «Dead Stars» song. I also remember listening to «They killed Kenny» Also, their«Two wars» song is awesome! Oh how I wish i'd born 10 years earlier than I did.

As I understand, the song is about the terror from the (Middle) East. So I guess that those vocals are not wierd but some kind of referal to the Middle Eastern way of singing.

This is a vocalese - a complicated technique and thus quite valuable from composition and performance point of view. Daria, the female vocalist, is a professional singer, so she does such a things perfectly. Just trust her skill and taste, relax and let it in.
