Honestly, I didn't know much about Bobby Lyle before having heard this song, but it is , without question, an amazing work of color and energy. Absolutely, one of my ALL-TIME favorites. Still awed every time I get to hear it. A wonderful piece.

It's sad that you don't hear the name Bobby Lyle enough when you talk about great jazz pianists. Without question, Bobby Lyle deserves to be mentioned amongst the pantheon of great piano players. This live performance of my all-time favorite of his "Aruban Nights" is better than the recorded version. Candy Dulfer is a bad chick on that soprano sax!
