Not only 1 comet, multiple comets hit North America approx 12,850 years ago. Likely it was 1 large comet that fragmented into multiple pieces. Some fragments impacted the North American ice sheet in Canada, hence why there is no crater. Those ice sheets were miles thick. Impact on that ice resulted in the greatest melt water pulse probably in earth's history. The Channeled Scablands in Washington State and Oregon show the great scars from those events

This is the only researched and intelligent comment here. We're on Team Zamora too. All the evidence (that didn't melt) is right there.

It sounds like this guy might know Susie. Do any of you know Susie? I do.

This is what happens when they try to speak outside their own field of expertise. The Sabertooth went extinct 10,000 years ago and the mammoth was still around when Rome was in power.

But not in America. 70-80% of all megafauna went extinct 12-13,000 years ago
@swirvinbirds1971 Жыл бұрын
@@jkutnink87 nope. 70%+ of the North American megafauna had already gone extinct BEFORE the Younger Dryas and extinction dates are not synchronous.

@@swirvinbirds1971 Like the KT Boundary, below the black mat layer you mostly see mammoths, mastodons, short faced bears, dire wolves, sabre tooth cats, giant ground sloths, giant beavers etc.. Above the layer, they are extinct.
@swirvinbirds1971 Жыл бұрын
@@jkutnink87 actually none of those went extinct at 12,800 years ago. Some went before and some of those went after. The Mammoth in particular was still around 3,700 years ago. The Younger Dryas black mats have a wide range of dates because they are wetland deposits. There are even modern black mats.
