Did Anthony Simonsen really flip JR the double Bird? Simo and JR hate each other?

If you’re bowling without passion why are you even out there? Without passion there are no pro sports! Great perspective JR! Thank you!

Well I agree with this to some extent, there is crossing the line tho... I think flipping the bird is pretty immature, but its not the end of the world and Its not really a big deal at all. I was confused why people really even cared on Facebook last night. JR said it himself.... He would never flip anyone the bird... And same here... I get very emotional and angry sometimes, but I am not gonna disrespect anyone or take out my frustration on anyone else either.
@NathanMoist
@NathanMoist 5 ай бұрын
@@JonHop1 Agreed the flip was over the line and would get you in trouble in any pro sport. But the people that think these guys should show no emotion or frustration are missing it. They are mostly bowling for their lives. Let them show their emotion. This may involve and outburst or a slamming of a ball. Something like that. A guy breaks a bat over his knee after a strikeout people just say oh he's just playing with passion. Bowling should be no different.
@JonHop1
@JonHop1 5 ай бұрын
@@NathanMoist For me, I more dislike when any Professional takes out their frustration on other people. I have zero issues with anyone showing emotion, but I think when it is directed at other people, that is a problem. Like I said, I think what Simo did was pretty tame and not that big a deal, but I still don't like it when he is using JR as a target to take out his frustration for such petty reasons. This type of behavior should be condemned and not encouraged.

@@JonHop1 You're right. I was at an event where Simo went a little over the line with a scoring unit. At the '20 Players Championship he ripped the keypad unit behind the ball return out of the ground. But I've met him a few times and he has always been very nice.

You said it was a non-issue, that people made into an issue on social media and how you didn't even feel like he needed to apologize because you don't get offended over every little thing like 98% of ppl nowadays. I’m honestly tired of everyone badmouthing Simo. He’s one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. He’s constantly donating equipment to our youth program. Every one of the people hating on him are the same people who voted for a broken brained zombie because of “mean tweets”. Look where that got you. CLOWNS.

I’m glad JR handled it well and de-escalated the issue. My only concern is the professionalism and the sponsors names on everyone’s shirt. I know Turbo and BowlerX wouldn’t appreciate that kind of behavior. We bowlers that carry a sponsors name on our shirts are an extension of their product and or their company. I hope he adjusts for his sake, his sponsors, and the PBA.
@tonyk438
@tonyk438 6 ай бұрын
Why? This gets them more view time. I agree that at some point of egregiousness, a sponsor won't like it. Anything below that point just is more advertising for a fixed fee. If you do it too often, then I think the other players will start to dislike you. Many competitive sports have this stuff, and it doesn't hurt them. In fact, it draws in viewers. I think bowling needs more of this stuff to grow the sport. When I grew up, bowling was mainstream sport. Perhaps it is too reserved for modern times.

This stuff happens in everyday life all the time in many work environments. In my experience, if two people truly dislike each other and this happens more than birds start flying. Pete Webber brought this aspect to the game. It got to the point, i think, where people tuned in to watch if he would explode with those emotions.

I agree that passion can be shown in different ways when competing in any sport. For Simo's display of passion, although I do not agree with how it was shown, never should have been towards you. If anything, he should have flipped a double bird to the lanes or the pins for him not being able to beat those lanes that particular day. Bowling is a lot like golf, this is a game that has an outcome of only your skill that day. There is nothing anybody else can or cannot do to make you score any better or any worse. Simo may be a really nice guy, I do not know, but this shows a bit of immaturity on his part. However, I am glad that the ones involved have moved past this as we the fans should too.

I understand Simo.. we've babied pros for years now. Shit every little noise click cough sneeze squeak pin drop machine rattle they stop and throw a fit..in Jonesboro Arkansas Simo slung a bowling bag and rolled my then 5 year old on the ground. I went at him and AJ Johnson grabbed me and calmed me down. However in saying all this... I was the same way we all expect to be perfect I kicked many a ball returns in tournaments. Then one day you grow up and realize what an embarrassment you are and stop. This will happen to him. Then they will name a tournament in Missouri after him. Then he will cry and say how good the young ones are.. oh wait just see Pete Weber the biggest cry baby in history. Simo is just like him

Bowling is a fun game. The only thing is from time to time it’s drama that gets involved dealing with great bowlers “pros and the semi-pro’s”!!!!! It’s always great to have fun, the only thing is depending on the circumstances and time, different bowlers are going to have different views of that depending on who they are, if they like to joke and if they are bowling good or bad. Great thing is they messaged each other, all has been squashed, now it’s time to move on and nip it in the bud. Can’t wait to see the Masters tomorrow 👏🏾

Everybody is human I agree. But there are ways of handling yourself and coping with frustration. Flipping someone off while being filmed, probably not a good option. Public opinion seems to be mixed and that’s fine and dandy. If anyone chooses to behave in such a way, then they had better be understanding that other people are human too. And their reaction to such a gesture could result in a 3 piece and a soda. Just sayin…

Glad to hear you guys are able to do what you do on the lanes and squash all the BS afterwards. The dumbest part about it are the armchair analysts blowing stuff up in the comments that have no clue what’s going on but think they do. Great week out there for both you and Cody and I hope to see you guys in some finals. Stay up

If there was more trash talking it might actually make bowling halfway interesting tho.. if they allowed fighting like in hockey I would imagine people actually wanting to watch
