Salts awkward southpaw counter punching style combined with his speed and power is a problem for both orthodox and southpaw fighters Anthony taylor was standing pretty square on which enabled him to land powerful bodyshots easily. Salt papi was still timing him and regularly getting the best of him when they traded. To be honest anthony Taylor mostly won by clinching to close the distance and shoe shining him in the last round. Which is a legitimate strategy no hate to Anthony Taylor and I dont think salt papi was robbed. I just think the conclusion that salt papi isnt actually good is the wrong one. Papi needs to fight 6+ rounds. More pure boxers especially counterpunchers are better in longer rounds because they use energy more efficiently. Inferior boxers waste a lot of energy in unproductive movements which makes them slow down considerably in later rounds. AT couldn't have maintained that activity in 6 rounds, we would have had to fight differently. AT was smart to go all in on his energy in 3 rounds.

Ok. AT has been fighting 10 years, he’s has a pro boxing record going back to 2017. Salt Papi is only 1.5 years in boxing. That being said, all else considered, Salt Papi did great. The thing with Salt Papi is that he's stuck in limbo. He's in a spot where none of the influencer's wanna fight him cause he can best most of them but his skill level isn't there to fight someone of the caliber of a an actual fighter/pro. Its a sticky situation so I think we won't see a matchup for him for a while, as well as with Anthony Taylor. But this fight definitely showed that Salt has some stuff that he needs to work on. Cardio and letting his hands go with more/better combinations is a must for him. Just relying on the same 2-3 or 3-2 counter combination is not enough. I don't see a good utilization of using a jab effectively (at least), he doesn't cut off the ring when walking forward, and honestly his defense needs some work as well. But what I do know is that whoever is next for Salt Papi and Anthony Taylor HAS to make sense. Because now they're in a predicament where who's going to fight them next? Jarvis or Gib v Papi sounds good but idk. Or Temper vs Papi? But is that a fair matchup? I'm not sure. I do agree that AT is in that category of guys like Virgo, Rahman Jr, etc. So Misfits or in this case Mams has to dive deep into matchmaking for them now

salt papi def. got an ego from his wins and this is a much needed reality check....BUT i do wish it was by someone better (remember AT's big thing is him being hard to KO, not him being a good boxer), cuz its kinda hard to fight someone who is literally kissing the mat every other time he throws a punch (not making excuses im just stating a fact) salt papi just got "exposed" by a VERY awkward boxer, but i do hope he makes some serious ajustments and comes back better (so that means if u dont wanna lose against papi, just put your head so low to the point where he wont be able to touch you) but big ups to pretty boy AT tho
