Why is everyone so obsessed with the 1997 title being split? Before the BCS era split National Championships were very common. Four of Ohio State's eight were split, seven of Alabama's sixteen were split. Do you ever hear a word about that? Michigan was 12-0 that year and it's common knowledge the Coach's Poll was manipulated to give Tom Osborne a going away present.

@@greglbennett What does that have to do with what he said??? It's a legit question you gave half of a legit answer the rest nonsense cause regardless of when they get their titles, their titles nonetheless... The fact that everyone is pointing out the fact 1997 was split but it doesn't come up for others is definitely crazy

@@greglbennett Nebraska lobbied hard to get a share, they "lost" a game whereby their player kicked a pass with his foot in the end zone up to catch it, otherwise they lost the game. Clear as day on replay. The refs saw it but didn't call it. Make of that what you will. The controversy was not Michigan getting a share, but NE. And the coaches poll was indeed lobbied and caved. Everyone knew it back then. Even NE did, which is why their QB was begging for the coaches to give them a share, as that was the only chance they had. I remember those days well.

Again, why are Michigan fans the only school who gets made fun of for having fans that didn't go to the school? Oh really, all 90,000 people at Bryant Denny actually went to Bama? And people wonder why we come up with the Michigan vs Everybody? Good lord the double standard that our fan base gets held to is fucking astounding.

I went to MSU and always hoped someone made sure it was worth it. Not like buy him a beer when you see him worth it, but like if he became homeless, he should have multiple 6 figure jobs lined up that day. Lions now have 2 playoff wins since JFK was shot, which happens to be the day William Clay Ford bought the Lions! Curse of Bobby Layne? Curse of the Bambino? Curse of the Billy Goat? No, we got malevolent spirits that were out on that day. Or Ford just sucked as an owner.

I won’t watch the clip again, ever, but I thought it was his own teammates who injured the MSU player who won the 2015 game for them. The only upside of that result was its role in denying OSU a conference title. MSU never led UM or OSU until the clock hit zero.

Boomani, Head to head: OSU n Mi Amazing how many times Mi has wrecked OSU’s NC aspirations. OSU has the higher rated recruiting composite in almost every matchup as well. And who is really counting NC’s before the CFP era?? Including, you all, Michigan fans. FBS had the worst system of crowning NC winners for over a 100 years. Finally, a 12-Team Playoff!!!!!!!
