Not saying CC Sabathia isn't a worthy Hall of Fame inductee, but why besides politics is Sabathia a Hall of Famer and Curt Schilling isn't? Their stats are comparable. But what truly distinguishes Curt Schilling is that he was a great post-season pitcher. Whether he was pitching for the Phillies, Diamondbacks, or Red Sox, he always answered the call. Who could forget the bloody sock Game 6 ALCS game against the Yankees? Sabathia, did not always come through in the post-season. Thinking of Game 5 of the 2007 ALCS against the Red Sox. With a chance to pitch the Indians into the World Series, Sabathia came up very small. While Schilling in that very same ALCS got the job done.

well said, when Cleveland needed CC the most, he failed. And if we get into that World Series, we probably beat the Rockies.

'The Curse of Rocky Colavito' by Terry Pluto is a great book. Absolutely right, Jay.

Let that whale go in as Yankee. Not surprising at all.

CC won a World Series in NYC. Manny won two in Boston. Hard to argue against winning championships. Cleveland still has 0 since 1948.

CC's greatest achievements were with the Yankees. Since Cleveland ownership flat out refuses to pay out market value contracts for its home grown superstars (Lindor, Manny, Thome, Bell, CC) the franchise foregoes the best prime years of these guys. As a result, it's only reasonable for them to go into the Hall in the uniform of the team where they had their greatest achievements. After all, Joe DiMaggio didn't go into the HOF in a San Francisco Seals uniform.

They all go in as Yankees from Reggie to CC to well, Jeter is obvious, but I imagine Rodriguez will eventually go in as a Yankee!

nah.. after he left and eventually became a yankee I never looked at him as a tribesman any longer. besides, he did all his winning in NY and not in Cle.

Clevelanders constantly put forth a small time image of CLEVELAND, thus others pickup on this and govern themselves accordingly. So I'm not shocked he picked the big time Yankees.

Anyone consider he didn't want to wear Guardians gear? Had he gone in as an Indian, they probably would've made him rep the Guardians

CC chose the Yankees, we chose CC but didn’t extend him. He has every right to make a decision on who he wants to be immortalized in association with. I have no ill feelings towards CC, he paid his dues here and was a great player. Congrats to CC. (To be clear, of course I wish he chose an Indians cap for his bust, but it’s not my decision)
