Handheld gaming PC market is bigger than the Steam Deck and its growing. Once SteamOS is made available on other handheld PCs, people will be shocked at the performance difference between Steam Handhelds and the 2021 SteamDeck.

Honestly I prefer a pc like handheld than a console like handheld - i want a little computer in my hands that I can do mostly everything I do on my regular pc but in the shape of handheld -right now, Steam os just isn't attractive to me

hmmm soon I upgrade my storage on my Ally X to 4TB, and once Steam OS comes out....I'll dual boot Steam OS and Windows (for online multiplayer) I'd love a 5090 eGPU for my Ally X, perfect for my handheld and use as a backup PC too.

Steam is needs to support anti-cheat before it can really takeoff. If I can’t play all my games then there’s no point.

This is NOT Linux issue, developers have to allow it. Some games on Linux do use anti cheat and allow it. EAC is not supported but that’s the mostly used anti cheat from what I’ve seen.

I actually like detachable controllers on handhelds, legion specifically. It’s not really a gimmick at that size but more of a need. While the legion isn’t too heavy it’s best played tabletop where you get to relax and lay back with the controllers in your hands. On a small device like switch honestly it feels gimmicky when you can just hold it as the switch isn’t heavy😅 On the Acer nitro 11 YEAH you’ll need it as that thing is massive and wobbly

U hit the nail on the head there. With the steam deck. It has become a mainstream device and people won’t get to play new stuff. Unless u see more steam deck settings, in new games. Until steam deck 2. But they probably would of forgot and be in the switch 2, tax world😆😬 Red dead 2 ran like a thunderstorm was happening(base ps4), but it still looks mint and plays good(fps). Anything else, is meaningless.

Yeah they confused me about this. Even more so with pricing.. wouldn’t the z1e version literally be undercutting the Ally and Ally X? I get the price boost due to size and touch pad etc. but Lenovo could’ve explained it better. Also the Z2go runs slightly worse than the Z1e but you wouldn’t really notice it since 4 fps isn’t that bad and VRR makes the experience nearly identical. Honestly if you get the Legion Go S z2go I don’t think you’d be upset.

Keep going about "performance and value" with Steam Deck. These new handhelds are competing with the steam deck and are obviously selling. The Steam Deck is actually showing its age spec wise. Price isn't everything.

@@128KBthe thing is.. with the battery size: Looking at benchmarks the Legion Go z2go actually saved on battery drain more than the Ally X in some games which is crazy (you can find the benchmark comparison on KZbin). Idk it’s weird.. my device the Onexplayer f1 pro can play games 1080p 15-17w tdp and the battery can last a good 2-2.5 hours, at anything under 15w shoot.. sometimes 4-6 hours, keep in mind this device only has a 48.5w battery. When it comes to handhelds I feel now everyone has this standard that Asus set and we believe 80w battery is the only acceptable standard but 48.5 or what’s in the steam deck or 65w are perfectly fine if the chipset is efficient enough and you’re not playing at max settings. Keep in mind most people who play these things play plugged in as their main complaint is being forced to play their pc at their desk and they just want to play in the bed or on the toilet lol. All that said.. I feel Acer definitely should’ve picked a 65w at best or more. Change it depending on their skews because it seems very dated and weird in general the entire specifications of their line up. It’s almost like they just through anything out there and they don’t make the damn thing😂 the problem with Acer handheld goes beyond battery, the whole thing is a mess

I genuinely don't understand the point of the xg mobile. The price is insane. I mean right now you can get a 4090 laptop for $2,300 brand new, and the prices will eventually do the same for the 5090 laptops. Not to mention theres not a single handheld that can take advantage of thunderbolt 5, and the bottleneck through thunderbolt 4 will make that 5090 a massive waste of money. Idk, I don't see how this is exciting.

@ By all means, fund your content, but there’s a difference between creating and selling something at a fair price vs. slapping your brand on a water bottle and selling for 10x more than what an equivalent item would sell for anywhere else. 2x more, sure. But at 10x more, it’s gauging.

@@128KB He’s not wrong man, Stanley cups don’t even cost that much and their brand is trending. Theyre like 1-7 USD per Bottle if you’re buying from a wholesaler. I want to see your team grow, but don’t insult the consumer with overpriced private label and tell them they’re not supportive of your team because they challenge your business methods. Thats someone you’d hired for your team, not scold because they disagree.

That makes zero sense. I'm a PC gamer and a Nintendo Switch Gamer. Being able to have your steam cloud AAA game saves when you're traveling like a Nintendo switch is pretty awesome. Its not a console experience at all. That would require my TV. So your statement is null.

Get a steam deck then and compromise with the performance. If you don’t use pc or a computer for basic computing and only game than a Pc handheld isn’t for you, stick to console which in this case.. is a steam deck
