I went thru 4 batteries on my not large front yard yesterday which was covered in leaves. They each lasted: 6ah - 20min; 5ah - 15min; 4ah - 10 min. Strangley, the standard 4ah lasted twice as long as the much larger, 4ah XR (5mins). All batteries except the smaller 4ah were brand new DeWalt.

Bought this and return after trying for 2 days. Package has 1 battery that fully charged lasted 13 minutes straight work. It takes approximately 2 hrs to recharge. Gets very hot by the time it runs out and have to wait almost 1 hr to cool before charging it again. more than 1 hr to get fully charged. I will need about 7 or 8 batterys. And 2 fast chargeres in order to do a simple work with that. very very very expensive to go that way. Its light easy to use strong enough blower not very loud but not practical in terms of length of work time.

Thanks for your feedback! Anytime I'm doing heavy work with my tools and the batteries heat up I have the same issue. I'd love to see Dewalt come up with a solution to charging the batteries before they cool down. You're right, this blower is not well suited to long heavy jobs, I break out my Echo gas powered for that. I've found Its excellent for quick cleanups and lighter duty jobs though. (Cleaning off the deck, cleaning the gutters etc)

Small suggestion, lower music Audio when your talking could barely hear you over the music.

Torn between this and the 60v, i have 60v batteries already but ive heard the battery life on the 60v blower is so low its not worth it
@SecurityJames2 жыл бұрын
You should be able to use your 60V batteries with this one. I have a friend who has the 60v blower and he speaks well of it. Either way I think you'll be happy with it for light/medium duty work.

@@SecurityJames yea most likely gonna go with this one seems strong enough and with the amount of 20 and 60v batteries i have i can run this for hours 🤣
@mertz3132 жыл бұрын
@@CoryCDS I’m thinking of doing the same. I have 3 flex volt batteries (9ah), but yeah heard the flex volt blower eats the whole battery in like 9 minutes. Did you end up getting the XR blower?

whats the run time ?
@SecurityJames4 жыл бұрын
Around 15-30 minutes for continued use at full power. With normal use around the shop/yard I get a full day of use. If you have 1 or 2 backup batteries you'll definitely be good to go.

I already had 10 5amp dewalt batteries so I had to get this otherwise i'd have bought ego, i'm happy with all the dewalt tools I use and I was happy with the version 1 of this blower but I don't like version 2, the high frequency noise makes me want to die after 2 mins and the cone thing on the end is garbage. One improvement is power (With the cone removed) and size, it's far smaller and easier to fit in with all my other tools. Well worth it if your stuck buying dewalt otherwise i'd get ego.

I had one of these for just less than 3 months when it emitted a grinding noise and quit. It never ran again. Sent it back to Home Depot for refund.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you were able to get a refund.
