Its so awesome that u had a grandpa like that. I never had a grandma or grandpa who would care for me like that. Only my grand grandma was nice to me and gave me the childhood that grandma should give u. And I never realized how much she actually gave me till she was sick..

wow, my heart is sinking , fighting back the tears ! you are very lucky you had those "last moments" with your grandpa, which I never got nor with my own dad that passed ... his passing left me with so many empty questions and guilt .. I never really knew if my dad was/is proud of me . I get signs that he follows beside me but it aches never really knowing....

Mack... I'm sooo proud of you for #1 going to see him when you did. #2 for telling us this as its hard to talk about I'm sure. #3 he told you how he felt when HE new it was time.. He new he needed to tell you before it was to late and he done it just in the timing he wanted.. You are so strong and a lot stronger then me... Sorry for your loss, Mack (so oddly close to jack :) ). I lost my gpa back in August. I'd only met him 3 or 4 times, but loss is loss. I'm not surprised he was proud of you. And I'm glad you got to hear those words.

my great grandmother passed away this past october from pretty much the same things. her body shut down slowly and she passed the day after i visited her. it was hard to see her in that condition but i know she's in a better place now. i wish she could've stayed longer and that i could've been able to come out to her

i am so gald you shared your and your grandpa relationship. i had an uncle who would buy bulk clothes and would never give me anything. one time i asked for a pair of socks and he just refused to give me any because i was a girl. he said no these are for males in the family. it hurt alot.
