I want you all to witness the level of confidence Hikaru has against 1200s, and the lack of confidence he has when he plays Magnus in Titled Tuesday. Fabiano is clearly the 2nd best chess player in the entire world. I hope Fabi wins the candidates. If he didn’t have a pawn move he could sac the queen for pawn and you’d be forced to take the queen resulting in a stalemate but thankfully he still had a pawn move that’s why it wasn’t stalemate

I think he was saying they're different, but Emory is technically better because of the time. Example of why I think that. You have someone who reads a lot of books, thinks long and hard on what he has read, and comes to know the answers to the questions posed in the book. Then you have someone who reads the same books, and then looks in the back at the answers. Both individuals have read the same book. Both know the answers. But most people would agree the first person is "smarter". Playing chess on the computer and reviewing your OTB games on the computer tells you all the right moves and things to improve. Whereas back in the day you had to do it "analog" and figure it out yourself without "knowing" the answers.
