I am at a point my heart has become so hard. My faith is very very low. It was triggered by a muslim brother I was interested in, who abused me emotionally and justified his awful beliefs using deen. I then spiraled because this triggered all the painful memories I have had since I was a child, being beat up to pray, read quran or wear hijab. I still try to fast and pray not because of fear of death or hellfire but because deep down I know Allah is real and true. I am trying to relearn my deen on my own. The people who were suppose to protect and love me use Islam to abuse and take advantage of me. Yet, Allah has been kind and merciful to me always. Lately, I am so depressed as a result of not having direction or purpose. I have been taking my hijab on and off and would like to be consistent full time. I am resentful of these muslims that hurt me yet I hold on to Islam because I have experienced God's mercy and blessings in my life. He answers my prayers almost always. I binged this series today while doing chores and I have been crying non stop, after my heart has been hard for so long. It is like Allah is validating my pain and confusion. It felt like He telling me He understands what I am going through, and that He wants me to return to Him so I can heal and find peace in my life. The story of umar's horrible father resonates with me. Pray for me fellow brothers and sisters to find a better environment and be surrounded by kind muslims for I am weak and emotionally jaded. I am tired of letting people into my life for the sake of Allah and them manipulating His beautiful deen to hurt me.

Keep going, Allah is always listening and aware of your struggle. Know you're not alone! We can't become a perfect Muslim overnight, or find the key to peace overnight. There is a difference between God and people, some people are unfortunately Muslims by name only and do not follow the religion the way it is meant to be followed, you can't attribute actions of people to religion or to God Himself. If you live in an Middle Eastern or Arab community you will understand what I will say next, you will find some people with prayer marks on their heads and with long beards and you will assume they are extremely pious, yet those people cheat, steal and wrong people. So again, people are people , not all of them follow the religion the way it is meant to be followed, and some stray the path. This shouldn't take away from your Iman, instead it should strengthen it, because despite of people like that in your life that God has placed as tests, you will still hold on to your faith.

I remember the night when Allah changed my heart. I had been going through a lot and I knew it was a part of life. Yet I didn't turn back to my Rabb. Then another thing happened, I feared death and I realized I was not prepared for it. That night everything changed for me, it was the night of Shab e barat. I faced so much waswasa that night, only my Lord knows. It was like I'm losing to shaytan. I prayed to my Lord to help me, I didn't have anyone but Him and Alhamdulillah My Lord have always been merciful to me and that night He did the same. Alhamdulillah. It's been just three years. I had suffered for severe waswasa and OCD after that for months but at the end of all, my Rabb gave me strength and I survived. Still I'm giving that old test which brought me to my Lord but I know my Lord will not only make me succeed but also give me rewards that I can not think of. May Allah SWT make His tests easy for us and succeed us on them.
