Like Rocky said "You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. Its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!" 😁 You have shown us that you will keep moving forward no matter how hard life hits you. That is VERY inspiring!!! 👍💪

DUDE, this vlog was killer. It helps seeing someone so successful deal with an off day. It gives me motivation to get through the hard times and realize that the attitude can change everything. Keep rocking it my guy.

As an older Master's swimmer I have become an avid fan of you Vlogs. I'm in transition from pool season to open water, had a string of great practices building yardage and endurance, followed by a painful, slow uninspired swim this morning. I appreciate the candor. Even the superhuman are human. Thanks Cody, for all the swimmers out there it's important to see the struggle as well.
@leahthomson8216 жыл бұрын
I had a rough set last Monday but the next morning session I had I turned it round and I’d say it was one of the best sessions I’ve had in a while. Sometimes it helps to have an off practice cos you come back willing to work even harder

You say fail, I say life. I actually thank you for this video. My son has been a competitive swimmer since the 6th grade, but didn't get serious until freshman year. He is now a sophomore, so I've seen the ugly side,the I'm not happy side of swimming. Almost all your vlogs are of a very happy person, which is uplifting, but we are all human, we have our bad days, bad weeks, etc. This makes you more human, lol, as opposed to the swimming freak you are. Your vlogs are UBER informative, we enjoy them.

Probably my favourite vlog yet, I often feel like this myself, especially with trying to fit everything in around work, plus with being an open water swimmer long winters stuck in the pool get to me

Hey Cody, I wanted to let you know, ur a great source of inspiration and motivation for me! Currently i'm 23 years old, I started swimming again (after 8 years off) in October 2017 and that was probably one of the best decisions in my life. I fking love it :D

Probably one of your best videos. Not that I don’t appreciate your efforts to be positive and energetic all the time, but no one can sustain that all the time. This seemed like you at your most genuine, honest, and vulnerable best. It was real. And I appreciate seeing you work thru practice, including some of your struggles.
@ShashwatDC6 жыл бұрын
Dear Cody, in fact this is one of your best Vlogs, because for it showed you so much more human, with frailties. We assume the Olympians to be these strong characters, like say super-heroes that are not affected by victories or defeats. But today, it was interesting to see that even at your stage, after you have put on so much work and years, you too are susceptible to self-doubt, it was nice. My two young sons who are starting their life in swimming and watch your videos were amazed to know that you too go through these feelings, just like they do. I like the fact that while you showcase victories, you also emphasise on the fact that overcoming fears and disasters is equally important. Even an Olympian can fail. That is so humanly beautiful..

Thank you for keeping it really. even Olympic swimmers have their bad days we are all human. as long as we keep on pushing little by little. Keep up the good work. possitive vibes from Chicago.
@TheWegeg6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video, it's really good to see that these moments happen to Olympians as well. Sometimes I feel awful during practice if I've had a bad day at work, and then beat myself up for not having the right attitude, but you're so right that we should remember all the hard work we've done and that eventually it will pay. Always keeping a positive and hungry attitude is key for swimmers.

Very valuable video, I think we often learn / grow more from failures than we do from victories, and its easy for me to view bad workouts as failures. Glad you continued the Vlog, it is important to see all sides, not just when things are going great.
