My wife and I have both had this happen. Random lady telling us "Um, i'm pretty sure we don't have anything your size here"... So I spent a ton at the yard sale across the street and walked back right in front of her to make sure she saw the full bags.

I've respected so many yard sales by not arriving early, only to see tons of people there when I show up. It's definitely the ugly side of this business. When I used to deal in vinyl it was the worst because record collectors are uncouth and antisocial to begin with. You need to make a business card for your channel. For one thing, when people ask about the GoPro, you can hand over a card. You can also leave it behind to make private picks, and best of all, when someone tries to tell you about eBay, you can say "Oh really?" then slap it down on the table like an Uno Reverse.

Strange, especially considering that you are tiny, she is not, and you could be buying for a daughter or anyone. I actually had the reverse happen at Layne Bryant. You're killing me with the fat shaming stuff! Last week, I landed at a sale with a lot of originally expensive clothing for pennies on the dollar. The lady saw me coming up her driveway and yelled out, "Oh, I have a LOT of clothes that will fit YOU!!!!!" She proceeded to try to hand sell me at least twenty pieces, each one three sizes too big for me. I kept waiting for her to say she'd just lost 150 pounds and that her loss was MY gain, hahaha. I finally tried on one jacket just to prove a point. She said, "Hmmm. That is way too big for you.....". I bought one item that was meant to be baggy and cost $1, when she loudly proclaimed that she'd paid $68 for it and never got a chance to wear it BECAUSE SHE'S SO SKINNY NOW. I left feeling utterly insulted and also a little bit richer, since I can sell her oversized piece and make $30 or so........

Good job ! We are going yard saling ( I call it that, lol ) this Saturday In Our old town. It’s a very elite area. We lived there for the great schools. We moved when our youngest graduated high school, it was worth paying for that big expensive house. The kids got a great education. The youngest will have her doctorate in pharmacy next year, ones a nurse and one has a business degree. Proud of them. Now we live way out in the country in a tiny town. No one has yard sales out here. So excited to go be going back to our old neighborhood. So we usually shop at our local honey hole. It’s more bread and butter. But I find in today economy the 10/12 range sells pretty good. And it’s good because we never pay over $1. I love that buyers are getting a good deal on something they need or want, I did get a Lily Pulitzer dress for $1 yesterday. They usually go fast. I enjoyed a sea salt chocolate bar while watching. Thank you for a great video. LA

I went to an estate sale up in Olympus Cove once. The daughter of the woman who had died looked at me and said ‘I don’t think she owned anything that would fit you.’ Is my money green? Then why I’m buying has zero to do with you. The daughter seemed to think since everything was ‘old’ it was worth a ton of money. I didn’t see anyone walk out with anything purchased. I grabbed a vintage fake fur that the woman thought was garbage because it was ‘fake!’ Got it for five. Flipped for over $100 to a buyer in New York City. We love you! Looking awesome as usual. Off comments always say a lot more about them than they do you. But it did remind me at a Goodwill about 3 years ago, some weird lady came up to my cart as I was shopping and just started going through it!? I didn't notice at first, but then she held up a small NIKE jacket windbreaker and asked..."hey can I have this? I KNOW it WON'T fit you!!" and she gave a little snort. I turned looking at her in amazement. "No...put it back. This is MY cart what are you doing? Leave me alone." I gave her a mean look, to show I meant business. She walked off, but determined Yep, started followed me bugging me...kept insisting it would fit her and why did I need it? I ignored, didn't answer but finally went to store manager to complain, but they shrugged and did nothing. So unfortunately, I just checked out. Glad that does not happen very often. Makes you wonder about people. Wow that one woman was sure proud of her stuff huh? You might have been her only paying customer. I bet most just walked up and left quickly. Lord. I feel like if people are going to reference EBay for prices… sell on eBay. The reason eBay gets more is because the exposure is more and it takes more time and work to list, keep tabs on, pack up and ship an item. Do the work if you want more. If not, have a yard sale and charge less. It’s not the same. She won’t sell much.
@HustleatHomeMom2 жыл бұрын
It always interests me how people choose to price their items! 🤔
@tidalboxer2 жыл бұрын
@@HustleatHomeMom I don’t think they’re really thinking about it logically. They see prices online and think they should be able to get the same at a yard sale. It’s not the same. A yard sale is expected to be cheaper to move the items fast. Some of those eBay listings sit there for months. The situation is different. They’re only thinking about the item worth only and not how it’s being sold and the worth of that. If you want the online price… list online or let it sit in an antique store. Otherwise be expected to sell for a lot less at a yard sale. That’s the convenience of getting rid of it easier and quicker.

Now they are pricing Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and brands similar at $7.99 without tags and if new with tags they start at $9.99 & up. The one Asst Mgr really likes me so yesterday when I found a NWT Social Occasions beautiful beaded dress / jacket she took $5 off and sold to me for $19.99. It was just too hard for me to pay $24.99 LOL... Their hard goods start at $3.99 which for a little item is out of control. They need to bundle items...

FYI... Fat & Happy is a phrase for Harley's "Fat Boy" motorcycle model if you didn't know. IMHO, I don't think she meant anything negative about her "skinny butt" comment, but I'm a guy so I internalize things differently. Pray on it, forgive her, and move on. Not every haul can be epic, but you did get some descent stuff. You are awesome!

That lady was a clown.!!! Your quiet revenge is when she's dragging all that ridiculous priced stuff BACK into her home. You are a beautiful woman...that was jealousy she exhibited.

I'm confused? You're so thin!! And that's why you deserve to enjoy that donut. Not bc of some mean girl mom. You also handled yourself, as always, with such class and grace♡
