I was in Hua Hin last month, I really enjoyed it, the place is beautiful. Hua Hin does not offer as much as Pattaya but there's still plenty of restaurants, bars, malls, markets etc. I love my Pratunmak Hill in Pattaya but I'm sure I would love Hua Hin too.

I'm 67 and still ride my 850cc motorcycle. I love the variety that Jomtien offers. Closer to Bangkok, Ko Samet or Chang and of course Ko Larn only 30 Baht ferry ride. 10 Baht to Pattaya which has great restaurants and events. The "seedy" aspects of Pattaya depicted on KZbin is so small and easy to avoid. I think I'll stick to Jomtien because I would die of boredom in Hua Hin. I've heard that from many people who made the move away from there to Pattaya Jomtien.

Hey coop, when Andrea and I visited in March we came to jomtien (we brought you some creamer) and decided Thailand was for us. We were settled on staying in the DGP2 and loved the Rompo area, this was until we visited Hau Hin. We soon changed our minds as it was a lot quieter, cleaner and far more relaxed. We are set to move over next month and deposit already paid for our accommodation. If you fancy doing a review of the condo whilst you’re there then it’s called The Pine in Khao Takiab.

I'm so excited to see you going to Hua Hin and further afield Cooper. I have been looking there as well as all the great places you show us in Jomtien 😊 I've had a fairly wild and crazy life, so don't feel the need to be near Pattaya. However, that buffet in the Hilton OMG, I'd be 300lbs by the end of the week 😅 You are looking good, I hope the Ozempic didn't interfere with the hotel brunch !! I prefer Hua Hin to Jomtien for personal reasons. I hope to move there when my lease expires. I like that their beach isn't on a commercial street, and is invisible from town center. I also enjoy its night market, lack of traffic and stray motorbikers, and the fact it doesn't feel bar centric. Has a quieter, Martha's Vineyard or Pismo Beach feel. I didn't settle there first because it's a little further from Suvurnabhumi, and I'd only toured apartments in Jomtien, Pratamnak, & Naklua. I visit Hua Hin every couple months, and I stay ina hotel run by a KZbinr.

Hi Coop, Darlen, Brooke and Jackie, I hope you’re all well. I’m home in UK now after our long travels. We spent a couple of weeks in Hua Hin and enjoyed it. I knew it well after spending six weeks there on my last trip. Hua Hin has some good night spots with open air food courts with live music if you like that sort of night out. Many ex pats live there with Thai gf/wives. I like both Hua Him and Jomtien for different reasons. Both have their appeal to me. You would probably enjoy the Go karts there 😊. Best wishes to you all.

I spent 3-4 days in Hua Hin back in April on my retirement fact finding trip, and I did find it a little quiet and not as easy to get around without a scooter as Pattaya, but I still had a good time. I'm considering staying there for 3 weeks when I come back next year to give it a real chance, but, like you, Cooper, I'm not quite ready for the completely quiet life just yet. I turned 56 in June.

Good morning from Atlanta! What a breakfast spread. . .but, where's the GRITS?!?! 😂😂😅 When I very first started researching retiring to Thailand, I was honed in on Hua Hin. I've since discovered Cha-Am as a super affordable option. I'm 74, so the quietness of the area is okay by me! TBH what will bring me to Pattaya/Jomtien to begin with, though, will be the Cooperstown affiliation, including the all-important services of Mr. Singh. After I've obtained my retirement visa, I can look around. Thailand is just a wealth of awesome options, isn't it?! The Hua Hin Hilton -- what a BARGAIN!! Perfect choice, Darlen!! 👍🌴🌺🌅💕

Always good videos Cooper, but I think difficult to give a good assessment from a short stay. Luckily there are great videos from people such as yourself on both Pattaya/Jomtien and of Hua Hin so people can form fairly accurate ideas on where they'd like to be. Saying that I'm still confused between the two having been to each many times. 😂

Good stuff, Coop, but i gotta tell ya. You Pattaya guys make me laugh! Soi Bintabaht area guessing 50 plus nightlife bars. 30 plus licensed restaurants of every flavor mixed in. Soi 80 is a 5 minute walk with 30 plus nightlife bars. 15 minutes walk, and you're in soi 94 growing rapidly with 50 plus ( Soi Bintabaht is slowing down i think the city planners want to move it al towards 94). Two malls, Blueport and Market Village within walking distance. Cicada market is awesome. The regular night market is small which i like and has everything. The food court in Market Village is second to none. Then there's the other side of the train tracks. Another world. There are plenty of restaurants bars, live music with a Thai vibe. Spead out a little so a scooter is handy but not imperative. It's all BORING AS HELL 😂 . A small but growing airport gets you direct to Chiang Mai if need be. The new train station is ginormous . Easy access to koh Tao, Phangnan Samui all of which are great. Having said all that, i can't wait to get back to Pattaya/Jomtien. Both places are similarly affordable. Pattaya walkability is a 10 . Hua Hin 6.5. Beaches are similar in both places. I give them a 6, hey were not talking Phuket or the many other world class beaches in Thailand. Both places are golf destinations. I'm retiring and haven't committed to exactly where yet, so the style of condo's are also a consideration and Pattaya/Jomtien wins hands down for style and are also slightly less expensive than Chiang Mai and Hua. All in all, I'm 60, but if i was 20 and never knew Pattaya existed. Hua Hin would still be heaven ? Keep up the great work Coop 👍
