I had to get my wife wife to watch part of your video, she wonders what I do when I'm out. I was up there a few weeks ago. I ended up turning around at the big rut. I was alone and had all my gear on the bike probably hanging out close to 530-540 lbs. Glad to see you guys made it through without too much trouble. I took a couple of pictures, but they just don't do something like that justice. I crossed my mind briefly to ride that ledge on the cliff side, but it was a long way down either side. So I elected to play it safe.

Yeah the ledge on the right side is definitely intimidating and yeah your right. Video just don't do the justice on how it really looks in person. Glad you watched and commented 👍🏻

Hell yeah! Good on you guys and Will for not falling this time. The trick in that big rut is once you get traction, you absolutely cannot let off the throttle. I may have set a standard: I went up the right side of that ledge!!

I seen that side and looked down the other side 😳 that's a long way down. Congratulations if you took that side. You Sir have confidence in yourself 💪🏻

@@TheBeardedTravler It was probably a very foolish thing to do; in hindsight. Lol

I installed a 13 tooth countershaft sprocket on my 09 KLR. It really helped out in the low speed areas. You can go between the stock 14 and a 13 without having to replace the chain. The 13 isn't good if you take Interstates but is perfectly fine for most other highways. I also run an 80 dirt 20 street tires on both my 09 and 2012 KLRs. They are noisy on the street but I get great traction when off rode. I may go back to a less aggressive tire on my 2012 since I rarely take it off rode. What are you running ? Try to carry more momentum on the 600s. If you fall into a rut just stay on the gas and ride it out. It isn't ideal but the KLR can handle it. The last time we rode the 600-2 there was a gate at the beginning, just past the creek. Is it still closed ?

I just in stalled a set of Tusk Waypoints the day before. I've ran the Tusk DSports and the Shinko 244's a good bit on my KLR. I've also had a couple of sets of Shinko 705's. I've ridden the 600-1 a few times now. Yesterday was a little scary because of new tires on wet surfaces so I didn't really know what to expect with them. So far I think the Waypoints are pretty good. The gate to the 600-2 was opened back up in the courts. People were mad, which I don't blame them, about it being closed. It's a public road and used by jeeps heavily.

I've also ran a 16T sprocket on the front. I tend to do more off-road with the KLR so I went back to the stock 15T. The other KLR in the video(black one) is running a 14T during this video.
