Well, how can it be worse to paint a piece of furniture than to toss it in the landfill? That is what people should complain about, all of those totally repareble pieces that goes away because they are not in style or whatever reason. You saved it, and you will make it beautiful and useful again.

I'm not usually a fan of painting wood, unless it's the type of wood that doesn't have remarkable woodgrain. Also, while purple IS my favorite color, I don't usually like it on furniture because it's too specific. Having said all of that, Angie, this dresser is STUNNING!!! I LOVE the color!!! It's one of those pieces you would use to add a 'pop of color' to a room, and it would actually fit with the colors of my bedroom right now! I can understand that sometimes you NEED to paint instead of stain, and even when you do, you never disappoint! Fantastic job!!!

I’m 50/50 on painting furniture and I trust your judgment as to when paint is a good choice. The bold colour choice is brave and someone will love it. I really like how the top turned out. The colour the dresser was before was hideous in my opinion. This piece looks classy now. I learn so much from your videos. I am redoing a tall boy dresser I found for free. I think it was homemade as there is a real mix of cheep woods. It is painted so that is what I will do with it. Not worth stripping and paint is the best way to go. ❤

I am just happy to know the proper name for this type of wood. Many years ago, I had a coffee table in this material/finish. It was probably solid wood (it was _extremely_ heavy) and it badly needed refinishing and repairs. It had been through multiple owners before me. I ultimately left it behind when I moved. ☹️ ETA: The purple looks very nice. It is a dark shade, so it is not overwhelming.

I really like the painted piece. The old hardware looked great as it popped against the purple. The wooden tray and the cloud painting were just magnificent, as was your treatment of the frame. They complimented the dresser so nicely. I think the purple worked largely because of the shade. It wasn't bright enough to induce vomiting. Some people will find it appealing and I think it will go along with antiques pieces really well. Good for you trying something so bold. Take care.

Angie, I'm with you, purple isn't my color choice for furniture. That being said...wow! Huge improvement, and the top is gorgeous! I inherited my mom's MCM dresser, and it has the little sliding tray, which is very handy. The one you created is very special. I absolutely love your painting! It's a fun color choice that gets that piece out of your storage and saves this from the trash because someone wanting a fun, nicely repaired piece for use in their home or store can make use of this piece. A plastic drawer stopper on one of my son's dresser drawers broke last week, and because of watching your videos, I was able to order a new one and replace it myself. I absolutely Love this color, just like humans, sometimes our own vibrancy needs to shine thru in the pieces of furniture we surround ourselves with! I am getting bedroom furniture together for a teenager, and this video helped me make the final decision in one of the colors I shall be using for her Alice in Wonderland themed desk I am decoupaging with rice paper, she adores the Cheshire cat! Ordering the paint today! I will take vibrant any day, but I also love to restore beautiful wood when the piece will shine again in doing so. Beautiful work!
