In General yes Allah guides whom he wills but the meaning, `the matter does not rest with you O (Mohammed); all that you have to do is convey the Message, and Allah will guide whom He wills, and His is the ultimate wisdom. It means that Allah swt will guide someone who wants to be guided , and he will not allow a person to be guided , if the person does not want to be guided. The Bible says "the truth is hidden to those who don't understand" where as the Quran says "the truth is clear so that we understand" it's like going into court and if you don't have factual evidences you say "oh your honor the truth is hidden" and here the other party says "oh your honor here is the factual truth". From all of the comments that I have read, It is obvious that the God of the Quran and the God of the Bible are two very different deities. Both do agree one God who is creator of all things, but at the name of Jesus it is nearly impossible to find two religions that agree on who he is. Did he die on a cross was he spirit or man, did he die for our sins, is he God, did he ever really exist, ect,ect. One thing that is certain and that these frail bodies that we live in will cease to have life. So if there is a judgment where there will be heaven and hell then we better hope we are counted worthy to escape hell fire. All messengers are of mankind and not divine beings, they are only endowed with the help of God to perform certain acts to show the people god's signs. Jesus is son of MARY which is a fact since human gives birth to humans. Not son of God since God does not have a son nor anyone but God. The word son of god alone is a false wording its the same as saying mary is mother of god it is blasphemy against God and idol worship nomatter what meaning you want to assign to the words Son of God. If you were to argue that it is figurative in some way then women such as Marys mother are Grandmothers of God? it makes no sense and completely anti-God. For Christians; in order to read ("understand" the Bible") you need the Holy spirit and for that you need to be a Christian. For Muslims; the first word of the revelation (the Qura'n) is "Read". 1st verse; "Read by the name of your Lord who created everything". Then in numerous passages orders the reader to contemplate, ponder, and think in order to understand. I can not understand how a creed "Trinity", not known to human history despite the number of prophets sent to mankind, no one has mentioned that creed, how did no prophet preached it if it is that important, not only that but there is no clear verse to support the claim, you need to twist your neck to set such a creed, on the contrary you find that the verses supporting the ones of God are clear, and need no further explanation. As Muslims what we know about the crucifixion is that Jesus was not killed nor crucified, and that God raised him up to him, there is no authentic saying of the prophet peace and blessings be upon him on how it happened, all we hear are speculations from some scholars trying probably to explain it, but no authentic saying of the prophet, on the other hand their Christian story has its flaws too, and each gospel writer is giving a different story, as Muslims we just believe to what the Quran says.

There is no single verse in the Quran saying he is still alive or he is coming back, no matter what scholars say , there is no single verse in the Quran telling Jesus is alive and coming back. So those who lived in the period between Jesus and Mohammed should have believed there was God , Jesus was a prophet and he died, weather he was crucified or not was not a major issue , after Islam we were told the story of Jesus and so we now know .
