Did Jim Carter Have to Convince Wife Imelda Staunton to Join ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie?

Imelda Staunton has always been a part of the “Downton Abbey” family, considering she’s married to Jim Carter who plays Carson!
Now, she’s joining the cast on the big screen in the new movie version of the phenomenally popular TV series.
“Extra” Special Correspondent Mark Wright sat down with Imelda and her castmates Tuppence Middleton and Penelope Wilton, asking if Carter had to convince her to take the role.

I had no idea who Imelda Staunton was when the DOWNTON ABBEY movie was released. Before I saw it I discovered she’s Jim Carter’s wife. How sweet! How wonderful! In the meantime I discover she’s going to be the final Queen Elizabeth in THE CROWN. AND in Stephen Sondheim’s view she is the greatest Momma Rose to ever set foot on the stage in GYPSY! (I just watched her do her musical numbers on KZbin. I agree.) She is just quite something. I’m assuming when the sequel to our first DOWNTON ABBEY movie is set she’ll have a much larger role. I just get more crazy about her all the time.

Here's a thought...As a Super #DowntonAbbey fan I'm Loving that they have created the #DowntonAbbeyMovie. But with that comes this thought, We're used to seeing episodes from week to week. With a movie, You may want a sequel, but that can take over an year to produce. For me it's gonna be kinda 'anticlimatic' to see the movie and know that next week there Won't be another episode to Enjoy. #JustaThought
