Playtested this game and nice to see it finally announced and personally am very excited to play this game! been an overwatch veteran and yeah the similarites are there and would mostly agree with the people saying its more like paladins as overwatch seems to feel faster pace, quicker and more chaotic

I genuinely hate the Overwatch comparisons. Why can we not just call it a Hero Shooter? Comparing games is fine, but especially within the context of Overwatch and other Hero Shooters the comparisons seem to be made to discredit the other games as mere clones. It has become so bad that some devs of Hero Shooters are scared of releasing characters that are even remotely similar to overwatch ones. The devs of a spiritual successor to a before dead, now being revived, Hero shooter game, Gigantic, mentioned that when Ashe released for Ow1, they asked the Gigantic devs if they should change one of their heroe’s abilities to avoid comparisons, and the Gigantic devs said that they absolutely should, because even though Gigantic was revealed and playable long before Overwatch, and played completely different, the game was still accused of leaching of of Overwatch, due to having a couple of heroes that were similar.

Funny you mention Gigantic (we are so back edition). Because this marvel cash grab seems to have more in common with gigantic than overwatch. Especially with melee seeming to have more of a place in this game.

Look, I'm not gonna hold my breath either, especially since it is made by NetEase, but i don't think it is very productive to call it a cash grab right of the bat. Its because overwatch is the main hero shooter. Its the reason why all horror Asyms get compared to DBD, or tac shooters to csgo. When you have one big game in a genre, all other games will just b e compoared to it. @@KyhlTheWeaver

I mean Overwatch was one of the most influential hero-based shooters, and it's still present in popular consciousness, so of course it's going to be compared. It's like how in the early days of shooters FPS were originally called doomclones, because DOOM was that influential.

@@EpicBongZilla The Finals, Siege, Dota 2, all are very good experiences, have you tried them yet (Ik Siege is 30 bucks but it’s worth it with friends trust me). If you have played them and still prefer OW, maybe it’s the gameplay style you prefer, but the updates have been decent recently

Bro overwatch is doing fine, it's getting constant updates, new heroes, new maps, they just released the April's fool event which is actually one of the best events they have ever made, really good crossovers like Cowboy bepop, high player number on steam (where nobody plays this game). The game is doing fine and now getting to your point, yes the game isn't close to the epitome of perfection that won goty in 2016 but there is no downfall happening. I agree with that.

It's more like Overwatch meets Paladins with a Marvel skin. We'll have to see how it feels and plays and what they have lined up for it's future. But I'm hoping to be wrong about it being a desperate cash grab.

I think we're safe from over monetization looking at the recent 1.5 billion dollars Disney gave to Fortnite, when there is almost no pay to win mechanics, it sounds like you'll probably get a battle pass and skins. Maybe heroes too? But I don't think it'll be pay to win.

This is the first video I'm seeing of this channel and can I just say? This has to be some of the most level-headed and comprehensively informative style of gaming news coverage I have seen in a while. Laying out all the facts that there are to know, the solid takes on what to look out for as both a player and a dev, the analytical and understanding approach to some of the more vague details like the mention of battlefield developers being involved in this project, the simply sensible amount of speculation here and there, and all that paired with a little bit of humor and such to keep things from feeling sterile. Seems to me (just a random viewer) like you have the perfect package for this type of content right here. I'm 4 weeks late BUT! I really hope for a few things to be in the game or more accurate in the game settings 1. Option to Choose the *EXACT* voice chat output and input and the same for the game sounds, I have a few mics and headphones so I want to have the option to choose which Ill use 2. IDK if its possible but its probably is, I Want an option to play in 1st option or 3rd person because I'm an OW Player and its gonna be hard to get used to 3rd person instead of 1st. and everything else you mentioned already.

I think another thing to note when it comes to characters is how they are gonna balance it for comic readers and non comic readers What I mean is will they only have popular characters in movies or will they go into the comics Also will their be villains Another thing is balance with the different sides of marvel. I don't really see a lot of similarities to overwatch asides from having ability cooldowns and being a team pvp. Overwatch failed to evolve and the new characters are kind of mid. This game, so far, has no similar hero abilities to overwatch.

ok since this game is produced or worked by netease it have a possibility to lunch on mobile but I don't know if it well succeed since game's like warzone, and apex was to much on Android but how know maybe it can go since netease already have a fps game (blood strike) that run smoothly on a ton of android device so i think they might optimize it for mobile since there might be a cross progression like what they did in warzone (which sucks on mobile) i just hope they don't rush this game if they are gonna release it on mobile

It’s a free game. With it being marvel and all, I expect it to have a massive player base. Hopefully they know to keep it engaging for years. The biggest measurement of success for them will be how well they market the micro transactions. As long as they don’t put new heroes/villains behind a paywall we will be good to go.

I sure hope this successful! It looks so great! However, we all know that this game is Free 2 Play, so obviously there will monetization/ cosmetics... AND if they know anything of what OW2 tried to do with their pricing range, they should not do it all. If this game is as fun with the Alpha and Beta Tests with great Tweaks, it can actually he a successful game. MARVEL Rivals can do some insane cosmetics by collaborating skins with the Classics and Movie Versions. That's easy money right there

I’ve played since release (2016) and have climbed from bronze to masters and I can confirm it largely depends on your rank. From bronze to low gold no one talks, from high gold to diamond people talk but it’s just to cuss out their team and in masters people use actual comms
