After almost 42 years, I can safely say that the moment someone says they don’t remember doing something that a sane, rational person would remember, they are either one of two things, a liar or an addict. It’s sad when it’s someone who is a loved one.

That’s not my experience. Some people I know including a few relatives suffer from CRS disease (Can’t Remember $#It ) and they forget basic things. You can tell them something and 10 minutes later they will ask you a question about it like you never said anything. I avoid asking them to do anything for me whenever possible or I know I have to stay on them about it.

If I was the mom I would just admit to my daughter that I took it and repay her back. How could you steal from your own child. If it was a bank fraud and the mom is the legal owner of the account why isnt she putting in the same effort of her daughter to find out what happened to the monies in the account. Seems the bank would disclose to the legal account holder. Her monies would have been safer in her draw. They convinced her it would have been safer in the bank 😂

1:05 Mom got that guilty face! Props to the plaintiff for starting a CD at 16 years old! At 16 years old my mind was not even on financials; it was on just trying not to get shot going home because I lived in the projects. But when i did get my sht together and got my CDs with automatic renewal with ING and Capital One brought them I was notified by email and in writing. So where did those notifications go that was supposed to be sent to the plaintiff? Also if the mom was shady and took the money and used it on the daughter for things the daughter asked for without telling her where the money was coming from well there goes the relationship

You can tell right away she was lying the moment she was asked the first question. She switches to "I don't know" but the first thing she says is that if she did "it was because she told me to". HUGE red flag that she's trying to twist the narrative and flips the moment she realizes that that wasn't going to work. Why would her daughter ask her to close it right after opening it? It wasn't closed years later, she remembered the money was in there, and pocketed it behind her daughter's back thinking she would forget about it.

I'm wondering if this is the same woman who just got married, was going to buy my old home, but had to back out because her mother stole her money!! Same situation here, wow, it makes me wonder how many kids this happens to.

The certificate of deposit was set for auto-renewal upon maturity. The bank would not just close it to oblivion. Someone had to have closed it and pocketed the money - the mother.
