Glad your cabin was not destroyed or badly damaged… the mountains have always seemed like a little bit of heaven to me. Always have loved to go there. Watched your entire vid… and it’s kind of you to bring supplies in case they were needed. However, PLEASE give the thanks and gratitude for good things… like how your place faired in all of the destruction from the severe storms that came thru that whole area, to the One Who deserves it…. NOT to “luck”. God deserves to be thanked and praised. 🙏🏼Yours could have easily been like so many others that were washed or blown away. So you and your family were blessed… not “lucky”. - Rita M.

So glad your place wasn't damaged. It was hard to tell who needed it more as we are all the way across the country but when we prayed about it and searched on the internet, we decided to donate our monthly tithe to Spruce Pine First Baptist Church. It sure looked like they had a well-organized program going on and I hope they were able to help a lot of people. Continued prayers for everyone still dealing with so much.

Hi. New to your channel. I am so glad your cabin is safe and sound. You were very blest that tornado didn't destroy your house. I have a sister that lives in Candler, N.C. She is blest to still have her home. She had to do without power, cell service for a while. She just got her water restored so she can shower. She has to boil her water for cooking and drinking. The beautiful area around her has been destroyed. It's not like home. Very depressing and dramatic. She lives there full time. I feel so helpless cause I live in Texas. She just got her mail service back. It's gonna take years for all the trees and nature to regrow. She will be dealing with the scars of the storm for a long time. I too have been donating to Samaritan's Purse. I'm like you, I feel like the money will go to that area to help. Thoughts and prayers for my fellow Americans who have gone through this tragedy. God bless N. Carolina and all the states that are having to work and except what is!

All of those trees will make you a lot of excellent firewood. Happy for you that your beautiful cabin wasn’t damaged. If the odor lingers in your freezer, stuff it with newspapers after you’ve cleaned and disinfected it. Leave it for a while. The papers absorb the smell. That odor is nauseating; I had a freezer full of meat go bad from lack of electricity and I gagged and gagged cleaning it out! Bless you!
@rt3box6tx74Ай бұрын
I've always heard a fridge with rotted meat is impossible to rehab. We bought a cabin with a clean looking stinky fridge twenty yrs ago. I researched and tried several recommendations. I think one of the most effective things I tried was activated charcoal. I think I bought it from an aquarium supply store. I spread it on big cardboard trays on every shelf. It helped, we were able to use the fridge for several months while we remodled the kitchen and got a new replacement. In my new fridge I only store foods in the reusable hard plastic containers. I'm hopeful if we have a power failure they will prevent leakage. I moved the old one into the garage for overflow food when we have guests. Over time the bad odor has dissipated. Now we use it for beverage storage. It's handy since the menfolk usually congregate out there to fiddle with the quads and Jeeps. They can hear and see the river down the slope, while they sit around in outdoor recliners resting up from the days ride up to some mountain lake. Overall I'm glad I didn't haul that fridge off, but the one negative is the warmth of the motor draws mice. I'd never had much of a mouse problem in the garage until I moved the fridge in there. Mid-winter temps get down as low as negative 20° in northern NM at 9500 ft altitude. That uninsulated garage wasn't too attractive to critters without a heat source. My place is built 75 feet above a river that gets wild during the spring thaw in May. The cabin faces a narrow mountain valley with a long ridge across on the other side. It's not unusual for there to be a rockslide somewhere along that five mile long ridge during snow melt period. These NC debris slides that have occurred have made me aware of threats I'd never been aware of before. I can see my cabin being toppled off the rear slope and broken apart as it rolls down toward the narrow river. Enjoyed the ride-along. Thanks, I can never get enough of these type videos.
