probably a good idea to stick with the stock turbo, unless you have a built block with forged internals

How far can you go with stock block/transmission? Ive heard some say vf52 is possible on stock block but requires upgraded fuel system. Ive heard others say forged/built block is required. Unfortunately i have automatic trans too which is most likely a major weakness.

Haha I’m getting déjà-vu, 2 weeks after buying my 2008 legacy gt spec.B (about a year ago) the turbo blew. Went through the exact same thought process as you but ultimately decided just to stay home stock to keep the car running as long as possible.

Step one colder spark plugs are only needed if you pull large amounts of power from the motor or a tuner recommends them. Other than that, they won't benefit... might even mess up the ECU tune.

Hopefully this never happens to my legacy gts. I have 2 2005 legacy gt limiteds that I rebuilt/replaced the engines on. Both needed a turbo as well.

Hey man I know the pain it can be putting spark plugs in. I put NGK plugs in my 09 legacy 2.5i and it runs way better. Worth it
