They do look man made, but they are formed naturally
@charlottekeep4614 жыл бұрын
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 You know, the biggest argument for those rocks being a natural formation seems to be " It would have been impossible for a primitive culture ". I'm not convinced? There's a process described by Mann whereby a kind of concrete ( for want of a better word ) was created via rush ' basket ' construction- fill in the blanks. His research doesn't extend this far north, it just makes me very thoughtful- living here for so long we've bumped into some crazy stuff. Those rocks follow around in varying heights to where we are on another ridge. Most you can trace via Google Earth. There's some extremely interesting stuff over here, cairns, cliff carvings, rock shelters. Check it out! :)

that was an awesome cave. I also like the rock formations on this video and the previous one. That piece of roof was probably from an old shed or something.

Nicest , most satisfying shots I've ever seen of Boxcar, thank you! Coolest place ever and we've got some extremely cool places in our neck of the woods in PA. There are other rock shelters but you probably know about them. I've only just discovered your KZbin, do you have one from the Gap/Cold Springs Hotel?

I was out in the mountains in VA this past weekend and I too, had my eye out for rattlesnakes. I kept my dog harnessed and on a six foot leash. I pray she never gets bitten. Thanks for your knowledge on the wildflowers from Europe. That is an interesting tidbit to know. I'll have to look up their medicinal properties. Keep hiking and filming. I love your videos.

It's too bad that someone hasn't made a legging type thing to protect dogs from snake bites. Be safe out there.

Really man you need to check out the caves at the top of the mountain an Old Forge there are some very large ones up there along the road that goes to Campbell's ledge from the top of Snake Road as soon as you get to the pole line along that road look to your left and go up the hill you'll find your first cave literally at the top of the mountain where the poles are the next one is along that rock face a little ways past it and it's about a hundred feet long and about 20 ft deep at about seven or eight feet high and the overhang comes out a good 10 ft made of the same milkstone type material shown in this video which I'm assuming is the Bedrock from the giant mountains that this Valley and the surrounding areas are the remnants of
@lucifchristo3 жыл бұрын
On a side note do you happen to know or have any idea what type of rock that is that you're hiking around and that balance rock is made of? I've only heard it referred to as milk Stone from the old timers where I grew up in Old Forge but I'm really curious to know what it is exactly

Hi. Do you think that some of those rocks were cut by man? Some do and some don't...... thanks for all you do.
@thewanderingwoodsman72276 жыл бұрын
These rocks are naturally formed. They do have that look of being man made, but they are not
@JaeDiAMONDZ6 жыл бұрын
I've been on that trail a few times, but how do you know where to cut into the woods to get up to the ridge?
@beverlykennedy1264 жыл бұрын
Wow for me when you asked if anyone knew what the small yellow flowers were I said colts foot and I was right. Wonder why they are called colts foot as they look no more like a hoof than a rock does. . Any way so be it. I finally took the plunge the other day and went for a nice long hike through the woods no ticks that was great and oh how I love the beautiful” smell of the warm sunny woods , what a day had fun if nothing else.

That one you refer to as Balanced Rock I would not be surprised if it was manually place there by Native Americans they were known to do such things here in PA I remember hearing not too long ago actually that and it looks like it has some interesting crevices worn into it that Don't look quite natural

COOL, as always. When I was younger I did the same kind of wandering, loved it. I see you had a monopod with you...is that for shooting your still shots?
@thewanderingwoodsman72276 жыл бұрын
I did use the monopod for still shots years ago, but now I bring it along for more of 'snake stick', it extends out up to 6 feet, makes a good pole to poke around in spots that might be snakey
